What excites you most about the upcoming season?

Nothing ever comes easy in Sacramento. If an underdog were ever a city, that city would be California's capital, in each and every sense of the word. A blue collar town filled with a diversity unmatched throughout the nation, the city has fought tooth and nail for everything that it has to call its' own. The people of Sacramento, once heralded as some of the best and loudest fans in all of basketball, have endured countless seasons finishing at the bottom of the brutal western conference. Faced with the threat of relocation, their unwavered support of the franchise came to be a pivotal factor as the Kings' new homecourt to be is currently under construction.

Though gone are the days where cowbells rang amongst endless sell-outs at the ARCO arena, a few familiar faces have made their way back to the kingdom. Former big man Vlade Divac is now at the healm, in the midst of what has progressed as one of the most successful off-seasons in team history. Sharpshooter Peja Stojakovic and former 6th Man of the Year Bobby Jackson can be found working with the staff in Sacramento both on and off the court. Vivek Ranadive, the team owner, has brought a winning atmosphere to a team so desperately in need for change.

George Karl and DeMarcus Cousins, one of the teams' constant story lines dating back to when the Kings coach was originally hired, seams to have turned a new leaf this week, as "Boogie" is seen with his arm wrapped around his head coach in a recent photo uploaded to his social media account. Rajon Rondo, the team's most popular acquisition, is ways away currently hosting one of his many basketball camps this summer. On paper, the team is built to surprise just about everyone in the league, if all goes according to plan. There is no middle ground, as an ongoing sentiment of most Kings fans believe that the team will either storm into the playoffs or fail miserably and live up to their newly given nickname "Suicide Squad."

What is it that excites you most heading into the 2015-2016 season, Kings fans? Could it be the mere idea that success could quite possibly be obtained by this roster full of undeniable talent? Is it the risk of somehow managing to see a glorious plan blow up in the face of a roster of such diverse and dangerous personalities? For many, the most gratifying aspect of the upcoming season could be the pleasure of proving all doubters wrong. Whatever that reason may be, Kings fans will need to embrace change and rally behind the franchise that so very much resembles the city written on the front of its' home jersey.

Quality veteran players from winning teams coming off the bench. Cauley-Stein's defense. Rondo and an excellent insurance policy if he doesnt work. Most of all im looking forward to seeing the Kings in the playoffs.

Edit - I also cant wait to experience the amount of backpedaling that the sports media world will be forced to do. Its going to be spectacular.

The fact that it's our final season in Sleep Train Arena before we make the move to downtown, and in to the new arena!!!!

NOTE: Not saying that STA is a bad venue by any stretch of the imagination. It's nice. But, our new arena is gonna be waaaaaaaaay better!!!!

Would rondo get benched if he's not working out?

I am most excited for the preseason. Primarily because I live in this continuum where no other sport exists except for basketball (and, occasionally, WMMA), so the two weeks between the end of the WNBA season and the start of NBA training camp is usually the longest fortnight of the year for me.

I take exception with these two statements.

While I will be eternally grateful that he and others stepped up to keep the team here (I put more of that in KJ's court than Vivek's), Vivek hasn't made this team a winner at all. He's been meddlesome and acting like a big-time rookie owner. It appears that he is now learning to let basketball folks call the shots. And I attribute this offseason to Vlade, not Vivek.

Some yahoo made a video and ascribed this nickname to the team. I don't know of anyone else calling us that. Many/most folks here don't seem to care for it, either.

1. Cousins continuing to grow as an elite player.

2. Ben potentially breaking out

3. Karl with a full training camp and competent roster.

4. WCS and his defense.

5. Rondo/Collison PG duo

6. Going to the bench and not having to hold my breath.

7. Rudy when he is on is a pleasure to watch.

8. Random Acy dunks.

9. Proving national media wrong.

10. Making the playoffs and sending Arco off in style.

I'm excited to see house this team meshes. If/when the chemistry happens, who will step up as leaders, and the personalities/characters that emerge.

The enormous swing of what Rondo could be next season. Will he suck? Regain some of his All-star form? Somewhere inbetween? Most have written him completely off, but there's such a large range at where Rondo can produce next season, that's what I'm looking forward to most.

Also the "put up or shut up" year from Ben. I give young players 2 years to figure it out and then they have to start showing me something by year 3. This season should also give us a pretty good indication as to what kind of player he'll be in his career; role guy who hits 3s or someone with potential to be an all-star. We'll see.

That there willl finally be a chance for a resolution to what was started when we drafted DMC, he will either (barring injury) proves he's capable of leading a solid team along with Rudy to the playoffs/ being really competitive (and those two worth building on) or if it fails it's most likely a liquidation of the assets. I am excited by that, that after this year the direction will be 100% clear.

I experienced a slight moment of panic when I saw House in your statement, until I realized it was a typo, then my Zen feelings were restored. We are going to kick azz and take names this season. Boogie will probably Tweet each of them, saving me the bother.
