Let's not gloss over the down-sides. Yes, J-Will was talented and exciting. He was also totally unpredictable and erratic. You never knew exactly what he was going to do. Would he hoist a three from just over the half-court line? If he did, would it even get close to the rim? Would his pass be direct to Webber or Peja? Or would it end up in the fourth row of seats?
J-Wll's legacy with the Kings is he was there at the start of the most exciting time in Sacramento Kings history. And he made us gasp in delight...and gasp in dismay. He's gotten better as he matured. I'm happy for him right now in Miami because he's still got that spark BUT he's not being totally smothered as I think he was under Hubie Brown. He did learn some control from Hubie, and I think it was what he really needed.
