What do you think of Bobby Jackson?

What do you think of Bobby Jackson? I mean he's got a great heart but he's always hurt and i'm starting to think that we need to get another back up for Bibby. I dont know, what do you think?

Bobby goes to the basket alot harder than Bibby and that's why his been getting hurt lately. I think I would give him one more shot and if he is hurt again then release him. I really like Bobby and his game, however being on the IR does not help the team...

...

...

I think Bobby Jackson is a valuable asset to the Kings, and I think he's going to prove so again.

BTW, we do have another backup for Mike Bibby, one we acquired with the specific purpose of filling in for Bobby until he got back. His name is Eddie House.

Thats very true we do have Eddie House, but if you ask me theres no comparison to him and Jackson. Jackson always comes in the game with so much fire and its nice to have. Its just that he always get hurt cause hes so aggressive, and he's not helping us on that bench.

Well you said that we have a backup to bibby and that its eddie house and i was just saying that i think jackson is a lot better than house. i dont know i just wanted to see what people thought about Jackson and his injuries. :)

Any preditions on when bobby will be back? Got his cast off last week. My guess he’ll be back April 3rd vs Minn.

I know, I know, everybody is saying he’ll be back for the 1st round. But knowing bobby he’ll be back before

Yeah knowing Bobby he probably will be back sooner, but he better come back and be ready to play becuase right now i think the Kings need his fire!

Exactly he has to be 100% ready, he's a great back up for Bibby and on many other team he would be the starting PG.

Coming back to early can make his injurie worse than it was..getting him 100% healthy is in the benefit of the team;)

To be realistic about this, it is quite possible we won't see Bobby in uniform again until next year.

The cast came off and the pins were taken out, but now comes the toughest part. The left hand, wrist and arm have atrophied somewhat so he is going to have to stick to a very tough rehab regimen to get his hand back to where the muscles respond instantly to the messages from the brain.

The last thing the Kings want to do is bring him back before he is fully ready. It IS his left hand, which is somewhat fortuitous, but he still needs to have complete mobility and use in order to be effective.

This injury probably made it more likely he will sign his last major contract with the Kings. I don't see any reason to bring him back until and unless he's able to play at something close to his usual frenetic pace. If he comes back at 50%, we can just call him Eddie.

;)

Okay, that last comment was a joke. I am NOT bashing Eddie House.

:D

yup Bobby should definantly wait until he's 100% to return
dont want to rush his return and worsen the injury

How old is Bobby? I ask because these types of injuries can really effect players as far as healing and staying healthy according to the age, unfortunately. Being he is so agressive, it may slow him down.

Don't need to be nasty, but, as far as House is concerned....we really don't have a back-up for Bibby! Just my opinion.

I think Eddie has calmed down considerably. He was only brought in, I believe, as a stop-gap and, as such, he hasn't stunk as badly as I originally feared.

;)

If the Kings get any kind of great offer for Jackson this offseason they need to jump on it. Bobby has been a great player for the Kings, and invaluable off the bench in the time he has been available. The problem now is that between his injuries and tendency to press too much, the Kings might be better off getting a rookie to groom for the future. This draft is point guard deep with a couple intruiging prospects in the oversized, defensive minded Marquis Daniels mold. (In addition to the clear cut studs like Chris Paul and Deron Williams.)

I agree with Joker112 that if we get a good offer we should jump on it. As for eddie house, i think he is doing a great job backing up bibby, my opinioin!

Last night on the Grant Napear show, Grant interviewed Cuttino and ask how he was doing health-wise. Cat said he's doing much better and mention that no players is ever 100% healthy. Every player always play with some kind of injury. Btw, Cat said he should be back for Friday's game! :) So even when Bobby comes back, he won't be 100% cause if we have to wait for him to be 100%... then he'll probably never come back?

Joker said "this offseason" Last i looked the offseason isn't over yet ;)

I really like House. His defense is better than Bibby's (OK, not exactly glowing praise, but it's something). Despite the jokes everyone seems to make, I haven't noticed him chucking up bad shots. And he's hit some important shots for us, like that big 3 in the fourth the other night, I forget which game.

He's not a game-changer off the bench like Bobby, but who is? For a backup point guard, you could do a lot worse.

I can imagine playing 80+ games a season is NOT healthy..players don't get enough time to recover but hey that's just imho.

i agree Alacron

but for the record ive never been one of those people to rag on him...i knew he'd come around...and lately he's definetly settled into his role...practice has helped him for sure

After what's happened recently, I don't think ANY Kings fan will doubt that if a good deal comes along for ANY player, Petrie will jump on it.

If Bobby comes back to anything close to his former level, we will most likely use the team option and retain him for another year. After that, who knows? I am now totally and completely convinced that Geoff Petrie is looking at a picture from the future only he can see...

NBA players play 82 games in the regular season EVERY season. A very lucky few get to play more than that. Why is it not healthy?

I think some people still have that negative first impression in their minds... the first few games with us he was in a brutal shooting slump. But even then he wasn't really forcing it, just wasn't hitting his shots. Now he is hitting his shots, so what more can you ask from him? Plus the price is right, so hopefully he'll stay on for next year... and don't forget the Bibby connection!

I think the decision's already been made to pick up the option. Even if he doesn't play at all this year, which seems likely, I can envision quite a few teams with interest this offseason due to his low price (less than the MLE!), past performance and expiring contract.
