Looking at the 2012 ESPN's ultimate team rankings, which ranks ALL professional sports teams in different categories, some things stand out. When you look at the top THREE franchises (OKC, GB Packers and SA Spurs), it's easy to see why:
- They are the top THREE in Fan Relations (Openness and consideration toward fans by players, coaches and management)
- They are all top TEN in Ownership (Honesty and loyalty to core players and local community)
- They are top FOUR in Players attitude (Effort on the field and likability off it)
The Kings, obviously, fail miserably in every category and rank SECOND to LAST overall (as of last year - they would probably be dead last if those rankings were done today). Look at the above three categories:
- 120 out of 122 in Fan Relations (we beat the Wizards and Cincinnati Bengals... LOL)
- DEAD LAST in Ownership
- 111 out of 122 in Players attitude
Not a coincidence that those are the things we have been complaining about for the last 5+ years.
New owners, take note! Sure, winning will get butts in the seats - but the above three things go hand in hand with winning and will build you a LOYAL fanbase for decades!
