WE'RE STREAKING

#4
It's a great time to be a Kings fan!
I was going to say "We'll keep the beam lit until your back", but that's their job.
Let's go Kings!

I want to know: Can we get a split in New Orleans, and then beat Minny? A 5-1 road trip with 2-0 in the IST would be so much more than I could have asked for coming into the stretch.
Why can't we win all 6?
Color me greedy, too! I think they can win all 6.

Focus hard and play hard tomorrow night, get that ‘W’ then get some rest without traveling to get the next one too.

Why do I need to have a take? Not everyone happens to agree that exchanging takes is the point of a message board. Just because you decide to give takes doesn't mean I have to give you one back. And, if I do, it doesn't mean I have to do it about the Kings.

And really, why should I? Give you takes about the Kings for what? So we can debate them? Man, I don't come here to debate. I come here to fellowship and participate in the community that I helped build, with the people who have been my online "family" for over twenty years. It's the reason why I didn't leave when I stopped rooting for the Kings. But most days, snark and bad memes is the best you're gonna get out of me: I'm not as conflict-averse as VF21 was, and I like to quibble over minutia sometimes (what kind of doryphore would I be if I didn't?) but I don't generally log onto the internet to argue with people. That's not my scene, and I consider it a suboptimal use of my time.

I used to work with this guy. We all called him a loud mouth. Anyways, he used to talk Hella smack every time the Kings lost. One day I asked him, well who is your team? His response? Oh, I just like basketball, I dont have a team.

So then he was just talking crap because it was fun for him, but he also shielded himself against anybody talking back because he "had no real interest in aligning himself with any team". Instantly lost all respect and credibility.

Edit: Now before you come on here saying I'm calling you put for not having credibility or respect as a "doryphore", or an annoying person with an opinion that is uncommon or unpopular, or even downright wrong, I would wager to point out that you're just a pedantic blowhard.

I don't recall Slim talking crap about the Kings, even when most of us fans were so this anecdote feels a little apropos of nothing. Some of us like to keep the energy positive even after a brutal loss and some would rather vent and/or commiserate. There should be room for us to disagree without making it personal. And there's nothing wrong with being a fan of the game but not any particular team. For instance, I won't ever root for another MLB team again after every one of those butthead owners voted to move my team. I still like the game of baseball.

All of that is fine. But calling people out for having a take on the team when you yourself don't, as to make those people who had a take feel stupid, is just bad Fandom to me. You don't have a take, you don't root for the team, don't make people who do feel bad for doing so. And don't call them out for it either. That's just picking a fight when you have no horse in the race
