Blood clots are seriously no joke so I’m glad they caught this early before things could turn tragic but, as a Kings fan, I’m also glad the Spurs decided to throw assets into building around Wemby BEFORE they discovered he had a potentially life-threatening condition.

Wemby only played 46 games this season making him ineligible for All-NBA and awards consideration. Still has a bunch of years left before it’s particularly relevant but this could make it a bit harder for him to get his maximum rookie contract extension in a few seasons.

As someone who has a blood disorder, is on lifelong anticoagulants as a result and has suffered two DVT events, this is not good. If he's required to be on blood thinners, the contact in basketball will be a no go. I truly hope that's not the case as he's an amazing talent and it would be heartbreaking to see someone's career cut short by this.

Well I’m glad they found it and can treat it. This guy takes care of his body as well as anyone in the league, can happen to anybody.
On just the basketball side of things, does this send the Spurs into tank mode? At several games under .500, how long before we hear that Fox is going to have surgery on that finger?

That’s scary. Blood clots are a serious matter. Being on blood thinners and anticoagulants at this age when your career revolves around physical activity is a bummer.

Terrible news, hopefully everything is OK in the end. If it's not a chronic situation he should be fine. The entire fate of the NBA might be riding on this situation, this is clearly the golden child.
I think he should take every other season off to be safe. so he's good next year but then 26-27 he had better sit that one out.

Maybe that 's why they decided to chuck the ball at the basket instead of actually shooting during the NBA Skills Challenge, which got them disqualified.
