For those who don't have Twitter or don't want to have to waste time scrolling through Jones' timeline:

Shaq!!!!! RT @DwainPrice: "Me and Chris (Webber) would like to own the Sacramento Kings.'' -- Shaquille O'Neal

And, to further clarify, here's what Dwain Price has as his Twitter profile:

Very interesting... Not surprised at Webb coming out with this, but Shaq is a surprise. As minority owners I'd be fine with that, as long as they wouldn't have (or think they should have) any real input into how things are done. They'd bring some media spotlight to the franchise. As long as Webber stays involved with the franchise I'll be happy!

On the face of it, without hearing the quote, I'd be inclined to believe they were just showing love for the franchise after a tough time, as having a stake in the team would preclude them from doing a lot around the league

All of this is ONLY based on a tweet from some random Dallas writer from the Star Telegraph. I'd like to see it in some/any kind of context before I even raise an eyebrow.

Sounded like one of those nights I have after a few too many drinks... "You know what would be great, Chris? We should OWN that Sacramento Kings team and make it the Franchise!" Chris replies, "That's a GREAT idea! We'll buy enough stock to be part owner and we'll turn it around!"

Either way... Shaq moved up a couple notches in my book through all of this.

Hated him with a passion as a Laker, but over the past 6 months hes has been very vocal in his support of Sac. Class act.

I seem to remember a fella named Magic Johnson who was part owner of some random franchise for many years while he was a commentator. :D
