We suck

Aside from Rudy and Cuz, how much talent does this team have? Andre Miller was just traded for Sessions....SESSIONS. He cannot play defense anymore. Ray is probably not a backup in th NBA, but a decent 3rd PG. Collison is a good player, but he's not a stsrting PG. He played a lot of his good basketball behind CP3, does not create well as a pg. Great backup/6th man. Ben is too inconsistent as a starter..he's at best a bench SG that can't create his own shot and is inconsistent on defense. Stauskas is a raw rookie. Derrick Williams MIGHT be a NBA rotational player. Inconsistencies and defense still plagues him. Casspi is a decent 8th guy on the team. He's not a 6th man you have off the bench, but more of an effort guy. JT is not a stsrting PF. Best as 3rd big. Landry can't do anything except shoot from 15ft out.

So far, this team has a legit 2 starters, a 6th man, 2-3 legit bench pieces, and the rest are bench warmers.

I know I'm going to catch some heat for this but i think Rudy would be best used in a super 6th role. He gives minimum effort on defense but can score in bunches when he finds his rhythm. Of course finding that starting SF would be incredibly hard to acquire minus trading the pick so that leaves trading Rudy for pieces a real option in my opinion.
I believe Rudy is a top 10 SF in the NBA. He's been the best King these last few weeks. I've always thought that Rudy and Cuz can't coexist because they're both ball dominant players. However, Rudy's play as of late has shown that he's been more than willing to play off the ball at a high level on offense. Defense is concerning, but Rudy has never been a good defender.

I think if you trade Rudy, you have to trade him for a star, or a top 10 draft pick.

I'm going to have to disagree unless you play both ends your not the "best" anything on a team that's won 21 games. Rudy Gay is not even trying on D I mean Caroll/MKG/Convington and some others have had field days just going to town on Rudy. Rudy Gay is basically Jamal Crawford during the past two weeks which is not impressive for a guy who is meant to be the #2 guy on our team making 19million dollars this season.

Didn't seem to be as much of a problem the first 20 or so games in the season.

We can't even beat a team that was designed to do one thing and that's lose.

This level of sucking will cost us Cousins. I hope he goes to Washington if he requests a trade. Would instantly be the team to watch for me. If we lose Cuz I'm out! Just saying. Can't deal with this.. there's being a general horrible team and then there is the next step.. General horrible franchise (minus the fans and the actual city).

Vivek and company will enter the record books for the only franchise not able to crack 30 wins with a HOF level talent. Congrats.

I know people like to throw around the 9-6 thing, but it was based off of very limited sample size.

I actually projected the Kings to be over 40+ wins because I thought our bench would be good. Our bench has been absolutely terrible. No one on the bench except for Casspi played to my 40+win expectation. We now see who these players are..and most of them suck.

If we somehow got Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans versus DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall in the NBA Finals, I would give the NBA all the money I have, and all the money I'm ever going to have.
That would be eye candy for me. I love Cousins and I love the Kings. Loved them even with all the elite sucking we have done. But this has become straight up negligence. I can't think of another player of Cousins level who ever at any point (let alone 5 years) that had to put up with so much crap. At every turn we are our own worst enemy.

I appreciate the talent that is Demarcus Cousins to the level that I want him to win. Even if it isn't here. And when it's all said and done we can only blame ourselves because we had him and effed around for half a decade.

But you can say that for almost every one of our players.. I mean look at this alarming stuff...

Ben guarded 2 players for most of the game and combined, they did actually pretty good. The other game vs Hawks, Ben gave up 7-9 20pts to Korver. Before that, he gave up 28pts to D-Wade. Then, not to mention Oladipo...I will refuse to remember it..

Cuz gave up 7-13 16pts 12rebs to Noel. 9-13 18pts to Horford.

Let's be honest, who on the Kings has actually played solid good defense this past month? Defense has been terrible, and I don't think you can just single out Rudy when you talk about "trying" on D. I think everyone is guilty of not playing defense on the Kings..

I'm talking about the full 11-13 record we had. Even without Cuz, here are our losses:

Spurs by 8
Griz by 12
Raptors by 8
Orlando by 9
Lakers by 3
Rockets in OT by 4
Pistons by 5

Only gave up more than 105 3 times in those games and one of those was in OT.

Bottom line, that team minus Cousins looked more competitive with the same crappy bench than we've seen in the last few months (including with Karl).

We do suck.

This is not a recent development.

The team is once again loaded with dysfunction, bad chemistry, and many bad players. If we don't turn things around soon, we maybe be closer to starting over again than making the playoffs.

There is already talk of huge roster turnover this offseason but people seem to forget that this FO brought in most of these guys. And most of them don't even fit the vision they keep forcing down everyone's throat. Just dysfunction and incompetence all around.

^exactly. Most of this roster was not here when Vivek took over. DMC and JT are the only ones i believe. And one of those guys is pretty much the only bright spot about the roster.

The team I saw at the beginning of this season would not have lost this game. That team would have completely ground Philly down and won easily.
You sure about that? We lost 20 point leads to Memphis/Dallas back to back at the start of the season. The lack of execution coming out of the half has been abysmal all season.

They inherited and turned the roster from:

Isaiah Thomas-Darren Collison
Tyreke Evans-Ben McLemore
John Salmons-Rudy Gay
Jason Thompson-Jason Thompson
Demarcus Cousins-Demarcus Cousins

Tony Douglas-Andre Miller
Marcus Thornton-Nik Stauskus
Travis Outlaw-Omri Casspi
Patrick Patterson-Carl Landry
Cole Aldrich-Reggie Evans

Jimmer-Ray McCallum
Chuck Hayes-Ryan Hollins
Nobody-Derrick Williams

And now they need to turn over at least half of the roster again? What the f are they doing?

That 3rd Quarter was Philadelphia highest scoring quarter of the season.

In the 40 minutes Cousins was on the floor we were +8 and the 8 minutes off -15.

After the 8:42 mark of the third the Sixers outscored us 33-9. During that stretch we stopped them 3 times out of 19 (not counting the end of quarter heave). Luckily we already had the 37 point quarter by one player so this is only the second worst stretch of basketball they have played all season.
Teams are all like, "We're playing the Sacramento Kings! Let's bet on who get their season high."

It is insane to me that i have gone from being a completely optimistic fan during these last 10 terrible years, to a completely negative fan in a matter of months. It honestly sickens me.

This is quite possibly the most depressing post I've seen around here in a very long time.

3.0, son. 3.0. Also, trust. PDA has a law degree and much experience in politics, while Vivek is a software billionaire. So...pretty much got this ball in peach basket thing down.
Does anyone have that photo where Vivek, PDA, and Mullin are all inside a car, taking a selfie and doing the shaka symbol?

And there's a big problem with that at least we had 20 pt leads vs playoff teams. I call that improvement

If you're insinuating that we need to trade, we need to back up. If we trade, we might get value in terms of fit, but the quality of our players never goes up unless if the team culture and the coaching staff is committed to making our current players better. If we trade, we'll take a hit on our chemistry as well, losing a positive team culture, making it difficult for players to find the motivation to improve.

We need our current players to start winning and to get them to believe that they can be an NBA team again.
