Was KF "crowd-sourced" on the Malone firing before it happened?

Was KF "crowd-sourced"?? I remember the week before Malone's firing, some people on this board were discussing a possible Malone firing, which I thought at the time was outlandish.

Were those topics initiated by "Kings insiders?" What is James talking about in this quote from the linked article:

"There is a happy medium between the Geoff Petrie “wall of silence” and what we have seen over the last two or three months in Sacramento. It started when people inside the franchise crowd sourced through fan groups whether they should let Malone go the week before his firing. And it ended with Corbin coaching his final week out with #WeWantKarl hanging over his head."

I can only hope they 'crowd-source' opinions on Derrick Williams too, and put "He has Potential" on the back of his jersey until he's gone.

As much as I value my own opinion on matters and then respect other forum members takes on matters, I would not want our FO using any crowd sourcing for these types of moves. It's not our jobs. We don't get paid to make these moves. Our jobs are to be fans and then of course we can agree with decisions or rip decisions in hindsight which we are really good at..lol.

Then again, if the FO reads these threads, here's my 2 cents:

You should have drafted Payton, PG is a premium position, and then sign a veteran SG instead...you can still trade for a veteran SG though using Stauskas...make it happen

Start pulling in some DLeague guys to find a possible rotation guy for next year...you know help the bench get better without trading off an existing asset.

You finally got the Karl thing right....now leave him alone and let him coach...he doesn't need your input on how to run a team...I think he has it figured out.

I wouldn't trade JT for Marvin Williams....I mean come on now.....don't trade him just to trade him. Did you forget who Marvin Williams is?

You may want to stop leaking stuff...it is really entertaining for fans but I doubt it is good for your players.

This might be a good time to just Mullin slip away....seriously.

If you ever trade Demarcus Cousins, you may want to just go in hiding....like forever hiding...disappear.

Ok...sweet crowd sourcing.....do I get a check or something?

I have no idea, but there was one guy in particular who was mercilessly anti Malone, who hasn't posted since Malone was fired. AK are the initials, and K is for King. Hasn't posted once since Malone was fired. Not once. Last post, dec 13th. The words. "Hahaha, a great coach" mocking Malone's final post game interview where he thanked the players for their effort. And then, nothing.

When PDA said "We hear you" in his first interview, I always thought that was odd. If you're planting posters on forums, you can make sure you hear whatever you want, can't you?

Several posters, one in particular (has prince in his name) has been harping for weeks that all you have to do is look at the game threads and you'll see how many people wanted to fire Malone. Not true, of course.

Here's the thing, I have no problem with Malone being fired, but they should've immediately brought George Karl in.

I think Malone did a terrible job coaching down the stretch. You can blame the players all you want for this, but Malone didn't know how to coach when there were 5 minutes left in the game. His game plan always let the opposing team come back and get a crack at the lead. The offense we saw at the beginning of the game completely goes away into all ISO selfish basketball in the last 2 minutes.

I remember I was highly upset at Malone for running consecutive iso plays for Rudy back to back where he basically lost us the game. I believe it was in a stretch of 2-3 games where Malone kept going to Rudy on the iso which resulted in nothing down the stretch. I think it was the Houston game specifically. There was a minute left and we were up 3 and the ball was passed to Rudy and he dribbled down the clock and took a terrible 3pter. No plays ran at all. Harden comes back at ties it with a 3. 20s left and yet again..Rudy with the ball as he dribbles down the clock.. not only takes a poor shot and misses, he leaves 1s left for the Rockets.. in OT, Malone let Rudy continue with his isos. Those are just his examples of terrible coaching in the last few minutes. Yes Cousins was out, but you have to play to win. We weren't doing that vs weak competition. Last 10 games as a coach, he went 2-8.

I have no firing with his coaching because I don't believe he was a very good all around coach, but the FO should've brought Karl in immediately. I think if they did, fans would see the Malone firing as the coach not reaching the heights we want it to, so we bring in a better coach. I don't think they should crowd source on things like this, but I believe they saw the same things I did. A mediocre coach who couldn't close out games on top of other problems they had with him. My only question would be, why didn't they bring in Karl as soon as possible?

Yeah, the AK guy has disappeared....wouldn't be shocked if he were PDA....seriously. And there are a few newer members who sure make some suspicious posts.

Lol at this post.

You realize that you lost in overtime to the Rockets and you are whining like a little girl. Since Malone was fired you guys have been luck to be in contention to win any games. Losing to the Rockets in OT is frustrating but you guys were still in a position to win. That hasn't been the case much since he was fired.

The team was much better even if they weren't perfect under Malone. I have doubts as to weather they will be better under Karl than they were under Malone. Karl may bet them back to where Malone had them but I doubt he make them better than Malone made them.

Which members exactly are we refrencing?

I believe we're trying to find out who the Communists are. Those Communists are sneaky, but we KNOW that there are a ton of them around, because if there weren't we wouldn't be having all these problems. So if you suspect any of your own acquaintances of being a Communist, be certain to report them to the KFUAC.

I like the jest of this post BUT Malone, right now, equal to Karl is a No. Malone had his warts but the question was, are they treatable warts? I think they were and time will tell if I'm wrong. But right now, Karl is the better coach with a better track record. For this season, it's a big question mark. The team was put into shambles and Karl has only 30 games to right it. Next year, I'm pretty sure he will have the team in a better shape than Malone had them.

You haven't been paying attention.

I liked Malone very much but he was deficient with offense. His skills had to do with leadership and defense. Karl most likely will make up for the holes Malone had and as we have Boogie and Rudy right now, I don't want to wait the number of years it might have taken Malone to get up to speed offensively. Win now and I mean RIGHT now.

Yeah but that isn't really a fair comparison.

Where would they be next year if Malone hadn't been fired? Probably better than they would have been this year too.

Karl is a good coach. Karl is kind of crazy. It remains to be seen how well Karl and Boogie will get along. Malone and Boogie had a good relationship.

Karl has holes too. This isn't the no-brainier you make it out to be.

What did I miss?

Malone had huge problems with offense. As I said above, he might have learned more about offense as time passed but because we have Boogie and Rudy right now, we need to make use of them by getting the best coach we can RIGHT NOW. I wasn't willing to wait the few years to get Malone up to speed offensively.

This would be the thread where the plants might be. Find them!

http://www.kingsfans.com/threads/malone-discussion-merged.58532/page-1

A surprising number of anti Malone folks vanished after he was fired (OP of that thread vanished). At best, just a bunch of fair weather fans with no clue, that didn't have the guts to stick around and see what woild happen once they got what they wanted, which was Malone's firing.

At worst, firing Malone was a worldwide conspiracy led by the communists. Dirty reds.

Lol at you.

I said I remember that I was upset at that lost immediately right after. That game was a representing of how our offense was all season under Malone even in our wins.

Yes the team was much better under Malone than Corbin. I don't think there's a single fan here who would even argue that tiny little statement. We have no clue how the rest of the season would've gone under Malone. Maybe playoffs? Maybe not? It's a wild guess at this point.

Karl is a better coach than Malone. Why do you believe he's not going to be able to coach this team to the level Malone did? HOF coach, but we will see.

  1. Here's Android's first post ever on KF's dated November 1st 2004. Let the witch hunt continue.

Hi guys im new here, iv been on here couple of times before and decided to register, its a great site, anyway, season starts tommorow, lets go all the way this year. GOOO KINGS !!!

Yeah, I believe that many of the points that were discussed here and elsewhere, were highlighted and taken note of.

They've already made it clear that they make great efforts to gather as much data and info as possible.

As far as Malone vs Karl. One is a solid defensive assistant, the other is a proven head coach on the all time win list. It's not really close if there's a choice

I don't believe there's much chance the offense would have been as efficient with MM next season, as it will be with Karl. No chance really
