On March 26th 1999 Kings beat Lakers in LA to improve to 13-16 for the season. Kings overcame a 16 points halftime deficit to beat the Lakers twice in 13 days. Webber lead Kings with 29/20/3/3st, Vlade had 23/10/7/2st, Corliss had 22/3. JWill had 11/12assists and TAW had 10/7. Vernon came of the bench with 12 pts.
After losing nine straight to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Sacramento Kings have now beaten them twice in a span of 13 days. Chris Webber capped a brilliant night with a one-handed follow shot with four-tenths of a second left to lift the Kings to a 111-109 victory over the Lakers. After former Laker Vlade Divac missed a shot from the right of the foul line, Webber leaped for the rebound, clutched the ball with his right hand and, while still in the air, put in a hook shot from eight feet.
"That was the first game-winning shot I've made," Webber said. "I just wanted to get my hand on it and force it towards the basket. I didn't see it go in though.
Divac had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Corliss Williamson added 22 points for the Kings, who posted a 105-101 victory over the Lakers in Sacramento on March 12. That loss was the first for Lakers coach Kurt Rambis and snapped Los Angeles' 10-game winning streak. This marks the first time the Lakers have lost consecutive games to Sacramento in over five years. They fell to the Kings at the Great Western Forum, 103-84, on February 10, 1994 and again at the Arco Arena, 102-90, two weeks later.

Kings @ 35-34 keeping the mediocricy level right around .500. # games road games losing streak is snapped and Kings hold the 8th spot very strongly and to lose it - it would require colapse that hasn't been seen before considering that even if we lose a lot we would have hard time to outsuck Hornets or the Jazz. We still have a shot on the 7th spot but considering our health situation and the way we have been playing - it is waste of time thinking about it. We don't have that in our hands anyways.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The more things change - the more they stay the same. Just like in the good old times when April approaches - Kings will hold their practices in "trainer rooms". On the floor - ther will be 3 on 3 practices with 6 players who won't get to play and who we really don't want to se playing for oh so many reasons. Kings lineup is just like a "box of chocolate" (Forest Gump reference).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
For some odd reason during the tonight's game against Jazz - I couldn't stop thinking about Murphy's laws. Not just for tonight but also for the last 7 and some odd years. Here are some of my favorites and if You have been following Kings in that period of time - You will recognize most of them. At the end You will also conclude that it isn't really funny at all but it is what it is. Use Your imagination and enjoy

So as usual the guy that You don't want to - wins the TDM award. D Brown scored 17 pts on 6-9 shooting and hit all 4 free throws (deserved the award just for that) He also had 2 steals and a rebound.
LW - VC award could have easily gone to Ron if Jazz came back to win the game. Since they didn't - the winner is D Williams who scored 4 pts on 2-6 shooting and had 2 assists and 2 turnoves. If some more starting PGs would try to copy such a performance - we would sure appreciate.

Well, we beat Jazz and got the tiebreaker but we made it too interesting at the end. it didn't have to be. We had problems on boards all night and als way too many fouls. Kirilenko blocked as many shots as Brad did in the first 50 games in the season. Luckly, they missed FTs when we needed them too. Still we found the way to hold on to it and it was a big step towards the PO.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, we have to 'verify" that win by beating Warriors tonight and increase the home winning streak to 15. Should be doable but we have to be really careful and take them seriously. It is back to back after all and GS has won in Dallas couple nights ago meaning they are capable. We need to do what we did the last time when we trashed them. We should be concerned because if You think about it - GS is a perfect team to break or streak. They suck and they got nothing to lose. (reference to Murphy's laws)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - bounced back as he always does. If it weren't for the 4 turnovers and chronical lack of defense - it would be perfect game. Mike won't complain about BD not playing tonight.
Bonzi - almost as good as new.
Ron - need to keep taking pills and also playing better
SAR - did he played tonight ?
Brad - nice numbers for a bench player
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - started sucking on an unbelievable level but picked up later in the game. Even hit a free throw.
Garcia - perfect from the field
Kevin - get well soon
Hart - he carried us tonight - for about a minute. 30 seconds longer and - we would have lost.
Potapenko - even Ostertag went "damn !" when he saw those fouling skills.
Corliss - one minute - one turnover = probably one more diary entry down the road.
the rest = Mateen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - called a time out when bibby was on the line and Bibby missed a FT. Moron
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warriors are dangerous team if one let's them hang around. JRich is a kings killer and he has set some career highs lately so we should worry. Also Murphy has generally good games against us. TDM - award will go to M Ellis.
LW - VC award will go to Foyle. Kings have got to win this game.
