Warriors in talks to build arena by AT&T Park

I realize this is a Sacramento Kings forum but Jason Jones of the Bee just tweeted this story. We need to build one for our downtown too.

Personally, I do not like the Oakland Arena. The concourses are narrow. It's also in the middle of no where and you have to go south about a mile to get any dinner options. Detroit is also talking about building an arena in their downtown too which would leave just Sacramento in a non downtown location.

"The potential for building an arena near AT&T Park is very exciting," (Warriors owners Joe) Lacob said. "The Giants have done some remarkable things over there. It's a great ballpark that revitalized an entire part of the city."

Philadelphia, San Antonio and Chicago would be the other non downtown teams although they all play within 6 miles of downtown. Detroit is the only suburban team but yeah, I like the Warriors idea of moving across McCovey cove from AT&T Park. They've been talking about it forever but maybe they have something now.
