Maybe thats the reason warrior hasnt been run properly for a while. Looking bad should not be a factor player transaction. Plus, which one look worse? traded for players he can't play or at least 1-2 players who can help the team right now? Warrior just mis-managed the situation to the maximum, just like us mis-managed Ellis situation.
Yes, I think the Warriors are poorly run and have been for several years. They have long been carried by a few year stretch over a decade ago where different managers(no longer in the org) pressed all the right buttons but they’ve mostly missed badly for several years.

Optics would be a big deal to them. Especially since the view on Kuminga was so split in the org. Lacob loved him and is no doubt fuming right now. Would be worse if he was doing it on the Kings, even if they were still losing games.

But my view is if you can aquire somebody you believe to be a future all star, which word is Perry viewed Kuminga, by trading a lightly protected or even a single unprotected first rounder..you make the move.

These are the prospective deals the Kings have passed on for years to their detriment while having to burn assets to move on from their “safe moves”.

So, two poorly run organizations failed to make a deal.

My thoughts are very similar. I don't think Kuminga was worth that unprotected FRP, probably not a protected FRP but IF our FO thought that highly of him.. why are they passing? You trade a future FRP for a guy you think is a star every single day of the week.

But my guess is the Warriors were that resistant to 1. keeping Kuminga in the pacific and 2. taking on any sort of long-term money.
