[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports
Finally, player empowerment era (hopefully helping us)

lol, and a lot of Warriors fans are all thinking if they keep Kuminga then he can be flipped for Giannis. Meanwhile, Milwaukee won’t even give them Portis for him.
Just shows the only reason the Warriors haven’t shipped him out for peanuts yet is there is a massive difference between how they value Kuminga and the fans who want top return for him.

The problem the Warriors have is they have spent the past year complaining about how he hasn't progressed like they think he should. Then they want to trade him as though he is one of the best prospects around. You can't have it both ways.

While I think Matt George is pretty hacky, I think his framing here is useful and largely correct. The Kings' front office is being opportunistic while offering the Warriors a reasonable off-ramp for their self-created Kuminga problem. If Golden State elects not to take that off-ramp, the Kings have lost nothing and the Warriors remain stuck with the same problem and no attractive way out.

I concur with everything you’ve said here.
The KINGS are playing their hand correctly. Time will tell whether the Warriors have done the same, but it ain’t looking good so far.
I think when even a hack like George gets it that really says something about the Dubs expectations. Truth is the Kings have been on the wrong end of these S&Ts both as the team letting go (Tyreke, IT2) and the receiving team (DDR) in recent memory that there is no way they'll do something as risky as give up a future high lotto pick to their in state rival. Kings are giving pretty good compensation in Monk and the Warriors main objection is that they have trash they can't unload to other teams when Monk takes their spots.

This is why teams have coaches just for player development. It is also what the GLeague is for. It is still on Kerr for how he wants the young players developed, and it seems like he has dropped the ball in that department. I have seen very little player development in GS in the past 5 years or so.

The truth of the matter is that, for all of Mark Jackson’s faults (and it sounds like there were a few) he certainly had natural gifts that Steve Kerr has never had. There’s a reason Steph and other players have always had his back to an extent. Early on in their ascension, i think proper motivation and development were huge for that franchise and they’re on the way back down to basketball hell if they aren’t more careful.
Way to make your team look less attractive to young players coming into the league with the impending post-Steph era looming in Golden State, Steve. You just made yourself easier to fire.
I think some of Jackson's faults are more off-putting to fans than players. Not that I want him anywhere near our team.
They had a handful of 2nd rounders and UDFA engineer their way to the Dubs but I really do think this Kuminga saga is going to kill that.

As the Golden State Warriors have sought out possible sign-and-trade opportunities for restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga this offseason, it seems as though the organization has been dissatisfied with any offers that have come in to this point. While interest around the league has faded, the Kings have remained the strongest and most interested suitor in Kuminga's services, and the Warriors' patience could still pay off as we approach the trade deadline next season.

I'm not sure whether there's any validity to this report. I'd do DeRozan-Kuminga swap in a heartbeat.

There are pessimists about Kuminga's fit with the Kings. His defensive versatility is enough to free Keegan to play his natural position and make an impact. Hopefully, his radio silence forces them to think twice.
They just make stuff up. Fodder for mod deletion but given how much they've waffled on what value the Kings can provide for DDR I pushed it to this thread. Which surprise, same two morons.
