[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports

The thing is that while Steve Kerr has shown the ability to be a great Phil Jackson-style “push the right buttons for a bunch of vets”/coach a team featuring a generational player coach, he has shown absolutely zero ability to really develop young players nor the patience required to nurture a young player. Kuminga might actually be at fault here but a lot of how this situation has gone has sorta reminded me of how the Warriors decided to take Draymond’s side when he decided to sucker punch their third guard in the back of the head at practice despite him clearly being in the wrong in the situation.

They want to preach two timelines while all the big potential young guys they acquire fail to get acclimated to a system meant for a bunch of old dudes to get Steph shots while also never really having the room to grow their own skills

That's fair too. Other than "zero ability" is probably an exaggeration. Guess we will find out later if Kuminga is really worth all the commotion.

I think he may have some "Bagley" in him. An athlete that doesn't quite have enough iQ and skill to excel at this highest level

He is way better than Bagley. That being said I’d rather have one of AJ or Boozer
 
I’m pretty confident that barring injury to LaVine, the Warriors will try to trade a pretty agreeable Kuminga/Moody led package for him before the deadline.

I think not having another high level scorer is what they’re missing even more than size. They have a lot of good young guards that can have the odd big game but they aren’t always consistent as they need to be with the Steph-Butler-Draymond timeline. I think LaVine would be a good fit there and might even be a splash step brother or something.

I think if more games like a couple recent Warriors losses where Steph goes off but nobody else does will make them look towards LaVine.

In the meantime the Kings should be feeding Zach the ball to get more of those Miami games

The idea of LaVine to Golden State makes sense, but when you try to match salaries it becomes harder to execute in practice.

That's not as ringing an endorsement as you think it is.

I haven't seen anything enticing about Kuminga other than his size. If we're offering seconds and some useless contracts to give him a change of scenery in the hopes that he puts it together, sure. But it sure doesn't look like Kerr is holding him back.

I get the sense that the team values Keon less than the fanbase does, but more than the fanbase thinks they do. I get the sense that the fanbase is in doom-and-gloom mode, so they overreact to everything that is somewhat negative and push it to an extreme.

One of the most recent "Monk on the block" reports was that it was because the team has settled on Keon as their long term guy at his position. Whether that is 6th man or a starter I have no clue, but there have been multiple reports mid-season that they aren't keen on trading him.

Doom and gloom is when you declare a state of emergency over a leaky faucet. Last season was doom and gloom. I tried to be hold back the tide of negativity a year ago when this team had just fallen a few games below .500 and the fanbase was already freaking out over that. Then someone in this organization had other ideas and tore the whole freakin' dam down behind me. If I'm even alive anymore and this isn't just a dying flicker in my brain stem then it must be because I've emerged from the flooded wreckage like a horror movie villain animated only by a supernatural quest for revenge.

Is it still doom and gloom when the whole house is underwater?

And if we see a Keon extension and him on the team after the deadline, I'll be the first one in line to give Perry props for getting it done. But it's hard to believe that's the path we're taking right now with how we've handled his PT this season
 
We have Bird rights and it's not like we'd use them if we were going to bury him. There's some GM logic in not showing all our cards by starting him over all the more expensive guys we are trying to move, it all comes down to what was discussed in the offseason and if Keon was aware he'd need to take a backseat until we could make some moves imho.
