Voisin: Indecision is hurting Monarchs

Full Article

"It's just not good timing," veteran point guard Ticha Penicheiro said. "When you have a title to defend, and you just look at it, it's a big question mark. Who is going to be the head coach? And if it does happen, I think we're going to be in trouble. I don't even want to think about it."

This article is complete crap. You can tell Ailene was struggling for a column this week. They were talking about this on the rise guys this morning when they ad R.E. on. They all agreed the article is just crap. She didn't have anything to right about.

These are professionals, if they are going to let this distract them they have week minds. I guarantee you it's not distracting Coach Whis. He did his interview, and after that he was right back to be ing immersed in the Monarchs.

I disagree. I think it's a pretty good article.

The Monarchs do deserve to know whether or not they're going to have their same coach or if they're going to switch horses in mid stream.

They would rather win than whine. They continue to go about their business while the Kings' coaching search threatens to become a weekly offseason serial drama. And while there is something to be said for proceeding with caution, there is as much to be said for winning a championship.

That says the Monarchs are doing their jobs. It has to be hard, however, to have this other thing at the back of your mind, nagging at you.

"He (Whisenant) gave us a philosophy, and we won a championship," Penicheiro said, "and we want to do it again. But you think about it (his departure). It's always in the back of your mind."

They deserve a swift resolution.

They need to know.

AV is right on this. The Monarchs deserve to know. A championship team should be able to focus on defending their title without having to worry about whether or not their coach will be gone before they have a chance to do so.

Oh please, Voisin is right in this article. The Monarchs shouldn't have to be dealing with Kings problems during their season. This should be resolved, and quickly. Why the hell should the Monarchs be in limbo during the middle of their actual playing season? The Kings' problems should have no effect on this team, but they are having one because the Maloofs are stupid and are making it one.

Furthermore, who cares what the Rise Guys or R.E.G. have to say about anything, let alone the Monarchs situation which I'm sure they no next to nothing about.

You're right on one point. The Monarchs should not let this be a distraction, they have a job to do. But I'm sure it still is one. The big media focus right now is on Whiz and it has nothing to do with the team he is currently coaching. He shouldn't be answering questions about whether or not the Maloofs have made a decision yet. Kara Lawson shouldn't be answering questions about whether or not she thinks the NBAers would accept Whiz as their coach; instead she should be focused on getting back to her normal self on the court.

So, back to the point Ailene was making:
In other words, the Monarchs deserve better. They deserve an answer. Does John Whisenant stay or go?

I think that's a pretty valid point to make. If he's gonna go, then fine, it needs to happen now. If he's gonna stay, great, let the Monarchs focus on their own problems. There is no reason that they should have to deal with the Kings problems too.
