I wasn't sure if I was happy winning it like that or not, but a win is a win. Candice really showed some poise out there, though, and that's great to see.

I agree, but they've had their share of crazy bounces the other direction....(cough...Elite 8 game against LSU...game winner waived off on a charge call...cough). I'll take this one and them kicking UConn's butt in a few week with fewer turnovers and maybe stretching a guard or two in the interim so they have another 6'3-6'4 body. They have zero post depth right now and that's a liiiiiiiiiiiiiitle bit concerning to me at the moment.

Pedersen's 16/15 against a top ranked opponent on the road in front of a national audience was a fine coming out party! Pairing THAT with Appel's 18/13 was just nasty! The youngsters are going to be ok I think...

Stanford's Michelle Harrison is out this year

Stanford sophomore Michelle Harrison will be out the remainder of the season, after she suffered an injury to her left knee during last Friday's game against Yale.

Tennessee Oklahoma...the New UConn Tenn rivalry

I left the house having forgotten to set my TiVo to get this game, which apparently was a pretty good one....(hoping for a ESPNU repeat...which isn't likely to happen, sigh, but hoping anyway)

Tennessee Oklahoma in the battle of the WCBB CP3s for those who get them confused with some guy named Chris Paul., Tenn wins 70-67.

Courtney Paris (OU's version of CP3) continued her ridiculous streak of consecutive double doubles by collecting 16rebs and scoring 21 pts. UT's CP3, Candace Parker bagged a double double of her own 28pts, 15rebs. Lady Vol's PG Shannon Bobbitt added 27pts of her own, and somehow this game was decided by 3pts. I say somehow because the box score makes this outcome even more of a headscratcher because it seems like there were essentially only two people scoring for Tenn.

Anywho....the regularly scheduled Vicki Baugh line score...2pts and a steal.
