Monte has wasted the few assets we have. Let’s look at his moves:

We had a deal lined up for Bogi that got blown up by another team violating NBA tampering rules. Let's blame that on Monte. Then the Hawks played hardball in RFA. They tried to S&T junk to us, and we passed, and when they put up the offer sheet, it was too big, so we declined. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Traded for Kabengele and released him

You mean that "asset" who has been waived by two teams in the 8 months since we waived him and is no longer in the NBA?

Traded two seconds for Wright and then Richardson for Thompson

There was nobody named Richardson (and from the Kings side there was nobody else at all) involved in either Delon Wright deal. Thompson at the very least is a playable backup big and would appear to be a good locker room presence. Wright was also playable, but was stuck in a guard glut.

Traded the 43 pick for Davis and buried on bench

Davis is under contract for two years, and has already played more minutes for us than any of our second round picks since Frank Mason. Second round picks rarely turn into anything, if you turn them into a player like Davis you should be happy.

Traded Bjelicia for Harkless

Bjelica was benched and miserable and expiring. At least Harkless plays and seems happy to be here and has also been signed two years at a pretty bargain price.

Will let Bagley walk for nothing

This hasn't even HAPPENED.

Notably, you failed to mention that Monte has drafted Haliburton and Mitchell, who are clearly rotation players at worst.

I mean, I'm 100% on the fence about Monte, he's got a lot left to prove, but let's not get silly.

Yes because other teams draft the top wings early and you are either reaching for a wing (Vassell or Primo or Williams) or you are taking BPA which will almost surely be a guard.

Re: Bogi. - the only people saying letting him walk for nothing was not a F-up are the rainbows crowd on here

Kabengele - agree no big deal just being complete

Wright/Richardson - meant to edit to Wright but missed the second one. Trent Jr. just tore us up. While 2nd round picks are long shots good small market teams like Memphis make some of them pay off. Thompson is part of a center glut whose salary was not needed.

Davis was a 2nd round pick and would be fine if we didn’t have a guard glut.

Harkless is fine with the right fit. With all of our other non-shooters Harkless is a bad fit.

Just talking trades analysis and roster construction here. Drafting is another story and don’t have an opinion on his drafting at this point.

What is your plan? play in-or just get into the playoffs is the goal of the organization....as lame as that is. That's Monte announced goal.

These last two years should fall squarely on Monte's shoulders. What has he done to change the dynamic here or move the needle. At least, OKC and Houston has multiple picks. What do the Kings have?

Hinkie's updated plan will work. Doing the modified in OKC and Houston I think now. And btw, this is the only way to go for the Kings...sorry to say.

It sounds like they want the play-in/playoffs. I can see why but if this coaching change doesn't work (which should have come last season) they need to start focusing on potential deals IMO including reset ones. The great potential win-win was Bobby as coach but they didn't go that route and instead went interim with less potential longer or short term. Hinkies plan wasn't a simple rebuild. It was a stack as many picks and shed talent at all costs. No thanks. Elton cleaned some of the mess he created.
