According to the NBA, the Kings now have nineteen players on the roster. There is actually room for two more. These include Jordan Ford, Keon Ellis, Jalen Slawson, Deonte Burton, and Chance Comanche, the most recent signing, who inked a contract five days ago.

What I hate about stories like this is that it reports the numbers as if he were a starter. Anyone coming off the bench--for 1252 minutes last season--has to be evaluated on a 36-minute basis. If you look at those numbers, Nowell was sixth on the team in points, eighth in steals and assists. Worth a look, I am sure, even if he is no three-point threat.

I like Nowell a lot. He took a step back last season, but he was near starter-level the season before. Still a young guy, just heading to his age 24 season. If he'd actually take the job, he'd be an incredible 3rd PG for the end of the bench.

Lamb looked good at times when he came over with Domas two years ago. Guy’s pretty talented but he’s also been waylaid with injuries throughout his career.

Yeah, I wondered why the Lakers didn't pick Lamb up. Maybe he wasn't 100% or something. He looked pretty good with the Kings as a secondary ball handler. Good for Monte leaving no stone unturned.

Pretty sure we already had his rights locked in but this training camp invite contract comes with enough money to potentially keep him from being tempted to go overseas.

I do not have access to a reliable source, but I read that James Akinjo was signed and then waived on Friday, making him eligible for $75,000 "if he’s waived before the season starts and spends at least 60 days with the Sacramento’s NBA G League affiliate in Stockton." In other words, this was a financial incentive for Akinjo to join the Stockton Kings. The Kings will carry the limit of 21 players into training camp this week.

Certainly wouldn't mind him as a deep bench option. Adds some real length on the wing, which we sorely lack. Just add him to the Duarte/Jones/Kessler grouping and let the compete for playing time. Can only be a good thing.
