OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The New Orleans Hornets lost starters David West and Tyson Chandler to ankle injuries during their preseason game against the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
West, New Orleans' leading scorer and rebounder last season, had scored 17 points for the second straight game before spraining his right ankle and limping to the locker room with 6:07 left in the third quarter. He had played 19 minutes.
Last season, West sprained his left ankle in a preseason game and was hampered by it all season. He still finished second in voting for the NBA's most improved player after averaging 17.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.
Chandler, picked up in an offseason trade with Chicago, left 46 seconds into the second half after spraining his left ankle.
The Hornets were already without free agent signee Peja Stojakovic because of a left quadriceps strain.

Sounds like they ARE becoming the Kings of prior years!

Well, if it's not serious, they dodge a couple bullets... If so, they have Marc Jackson (I think)/Armstrong/Simmons/Bass to play PF/C. That isn't too bad in a way, the three young bigs will get some extra time to play, and Jackson is a decent veteran big. They need Chandler/West to at least be serious in the playoff picture though.

Sucks to be them about now... Chris Paul looks like he didn't even work on his jumper at all--hes going to regret it, he still can't shoot.
