[TOR/DAL] Bad teams find ways to lose...

Toronto just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, surrendering a twenty-four point lead to the Mavericks and losing in overtime. They still led by as much as seventeen with six minutes to go in regulation.

After it looked for a few minutes like a fight would break out in the second quarter when Jason Terry got caught by an Axe Bomber from Joey Graham, Toronto appeared to take control, building a tremendous and, at the time, seemingly insurmountable lead...

... And then, down the stretch, someone apparently reminded them that they were still the Toronto Raptors...

But credit where it's deserved: Avery Johnson pulled Darrell Armstrong out of the moth balls and, although his stats won't show it, he turned the game around for Dallas, and then Nowitzki took over down the stretch.

Just saw the end of that, ridiculous loss for Raps. Armstrong is one of those energy guys, he was big in the playoffs last year too.

Love Mike James

Darrell Armstrong is so valuable on this team for the exact reason you said. I would also like to add that this comeback would've never happened b/c the Mavs wouldn't have needed to if Josh Howard was playing.

He's considered day to day so I hope he's good for the Spurs next week...

good win for the Mavs

well make no mistake it IS the Raptors. But tell me what other team is capable of coming back while being down 17 points to start the 4th? Hard pressed to find anyone other than the Mavs. Perhaps the Suns who can score in bunches...and the Lakers MAYBE but that all depends on Kobe...

Give credit where it's due - even if it is against the lowly Raptors.

The Hornets probably did it. They've come back six times down double digits to win (not sure how many are at half or entering 4th though).

The Bucks I'm pretty sure did it to the Pacers back in Nov. (Mo Williams jumper), and maybe another time or two.

Weren't the lakers down like 30-something to the Mavs a couple years back only to come back and win it in the 4th?

And as for this season, the Suns could definitely do it. Those guys score in bunches, just as easy for them to score as it is for others to score ON them.

The Spurs and Pistons could as well with their ridiculous lockdown defense. Not taking too much away from the Mavs, but it WAS against Toronto, it WAS at home, and it WAS against Toronto. I wouldn't call it a one-of-a-kind effort at all.

Well who was our coach? I love Nellie I really do but he didn't even have plays for defense!

He could also be your next coach...that's another story...
