TNT Games

I know this is an old concept around here, but I am beside myself tonight. I can't get 1140 radio, so I had to listen to the TNT xrew. It was awful.

I just had a horrible thought. Was this game also on Comcast? I gotta go look, and kill myself if it was.

Put the gun down! It wasn't!;)

I want to thank all of you for lying to me. I suspect it really was on Comcast. I just need a few minutes to get Doug Collins smug words out of my head. He announced the entire game as if he were a Mavericks' announcer. Stuff like, "The Mavericks are going to have to stop the Kings to win this one." I can't write any more.

Kings fans whine about anyone calling their games besides total homers. Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan are probably the best tandem right now. Collins isn't biased, knows basketball and manages to not make an *** of himself. I just wished they let Harlan off the leash. He use to have wicked playcalls, but the networks asked him to tone it down vanilla style. I remember when Mauhmoud Abdul-Rauf was on the Nuggets and scored a ton of points in the fourth and Harlan started shouting "RAUF! RAUF! RAUF IS ON FIRE!". It was hilarious.

I don't whine, so bite me. All of the TNT commentators, except Kenny Smith, are hugely biased.

I don't have a problem with announcers who aren't local homers, I just happen to think most of the national announcing teams on TNT, ESPN, and especially ABC insult my intelligence. I don't think any of them are "anti-Kings" or pro-anyone-else, I just think they dumb it down a lot (same with the NFL, btw). Although Steve Kerr does tend to carry on in a loving manner about the Spurs...

I wouldn't lie to you, I respect you too much. It wasn't on Comcast. The PBP on TNT was interesting, some waffling, but when the Kings were up, the PBP was actually (somewhat) complimentary. Note that I said "somewhat". The whole TNT crew was ready to bag on the team and the season but I think they played well enough, short handed, to cause a compliment or two here and there. I'm really proud of the way the team played, so let's get them a new arena already!

Tough loss, but the team played very well considering how short-handed they were. Sixers lost as well, and by a larger margin, if it's any consolation. :)

absolutly hate games on tnt, like when the game is going on and they shrinkthe picture down so they can interview somebody about nothing..and how on earth can Kenny Smith and the other 2 guys put up with barely I mean barkley.

Yes!!! Me, too! Or when they keep the camera on Cheryl Miller while she interviews Scottie Pippen, who says the most shocking trade was the one that sent Antoine Walker back to the Celtics AND you hear a large groan from the crowd, so you know something good happened for the Kings!!!

whenever it is a double header on tnt, it always seems like the first team goes into overtime and we miss the first quarter or so of the kings game.

I tend to adapt that lame joke of a perspective on football games where (I think it was the comic strip, Cathy) she just wants no whistles called and the clock to wind down and the darn thing to be over with.

I don't like TNT's camera angles - call me a traditionalist. I get woozy when, in the middle of a play, they switch to "swooping hawk cam" or give you the perspective of what the game would look like to someone sitting on the game clock or hanging upside down from the rafters. Too distracting for me.

i agree that TNT is generally biased against the Kings....but NOT Doug Collins...even when Webber came back last season...he was the only commentator who truly believed the Kings would win...gernally speasking, he's pretty objective and knows his stuff...lets face it, he just said things yesterday that any non-biased onlooked of the new Kings would say
