Time To Start Shareef.

while i agree with your lineup, and your points, you do realize losing 43 pounds is ridiculous, right? He's down to 255 he said from 271 at weigh in....where did you hear 217?

I could have misheard, but I could have sworn Jerry and Grant mentioned that in the last few games.

I've learned to appreciate Reef jockers -- no matter how dark things get, they are always good for some comic relief.

Comic relief? Those aren't my words, man. I wasn't stating my opinion, I was restating the words of one man on the team: the coach. But, what would he know right?

ML: You mentioned something about Shareef last week, and I know you’ve talked about Corliss Williamson. Those are guys that are willing to take their role and they don’t say anything. How much easier does that make your job or how much have they contributed to this team turning it around with their team attitude?

RA: Oh, I think it’s terrific and I’d include Bonzi in that too, where he’s accepted that it’s better for him to come off the bench right now, for this team. Shareef has been terrific. He’s just starting to play well, and that’s one reason why you only see seven guys playing, because I want to give him all the minutes behind Brad and behind Kenny. He’s the best basketball player we have...

On the bright side, Artest is in a slump. So is Brad, and so was Martin, pre-injury. They are all good players and will pull out of it eventually. At this point of the season, it's just a matter of HOW SOON...not much time to waste.

I'm thinking Artest is going to attack the rim all day next game after taking a look at some video.

Miller just needs to get out of his own damn head.

Why does everyone keep saying that Artest is in a slump?! He's been shooting poorly and making poor decisions ALL YEAR on offense!

He's still the best player, when he's in perfect health and shape, on the team but he's just not been that player this year. He's brought it defensively, but he's not been some offensive stud this year.

That would at least explain why he agrees with everything playmaker0017 says, since no one else does... except for "Rome."

Hrmmm...

I might be. Da-da-dum.

I'm playmaker0018b. Sent to rule the world.

If I sound like him, it's quite simply explained: he must have been brilliant person akin to God himself.

I didn't start this fracking thread! Nor do I agree with everything that playmaker said, I don't think! All I said is that Reef should start and Ron Artest has not been an offensive powerhouse this year. It does not take a genius to figure that one out.

As for "rome", I don't even know this Rome character, although I DO like his taste in posts.

Ok, enough.

You are not playmaker., But I do know EXACTLY who you are, or were. This can be a very short return stay if you press it.

he sure would be aroused by this thread and we would have to listen to " I told You so" kind of speech.

At least he was upfront about his agenda.

Unfortunately bro, we lost a gimmy game tonight so there is nothing to pick up my spirit, and playmaker might as well come in for his "I told you so" speach. ;)

He’s the best basketball player we have, but his attitude is, he just wants to win. He wants to do whatever it takes, and sure, he gets frustrated. I know Corliss is frustrated, but right now, it’s just hard to get guys in the game. You try to do it, but right now, to get a continuity in our games, game in and game out…unless we have a lot.. We’re gonna have a lot of games now, where we play back to backs, and those guys are gonna become important, but Corliss is a real leader on the bench. He’s always talking to the guys. He gets down. He gets frustrated. I’d be disappointed if the guys who aren’t playing aren’t frustrated. But those guys are key. They’re gonna keep the young guys going. They’re gonna keep talking to ‘em and if I put them in the game, I have confidence that if I put them in the game, they’re gonna go out there and play hard.

I got the interview from this site about 3 posts down.

Think ROTATIONS... then suddenly it seems clear why bringing Reef in for log streachs to spell the 4 and the 5 makes sense ans why starting him at the 4 does not.

I get very annoyed with people constantly implying that Reef is a loser or only good for being the "best player on a bad team" and that 8 reb per 48 min is pure dog's meat (as if that's the only thing he does). I love his attitude No 1 -- he's all about team. And the difference between the LA Lakers and Vancouver Grizzlies is more than a few championships. Plus he's a very efficient scorer. If all a player did is 8 reb per 40 min than I agree -- dump him, but 20 pts and 8 reb at 55 % shooting most teams would be satisfied with. That said on our "team" he's probably best as a 6th man cause we've all seen Kenny coming off the bench. But unless our core Artest, Bibby and Miller produce we ain't going to win. And I'm almost reading to add Kevin Martin to that core. We don't seem to win if he doesn't get his points.

nice post. i agree.

Uh, last I heard, Ron came in at about 270 and was down to about 247, not 217.

He's not 217, you can tell just by looking at him.
