three game challenge

WhyNotUs?

G-League
I recall when I was coaching my daughters youth team and we would get a 50 pt blowout - we invented ways to challenge the team, a set number of passes before a shot, no shots in the paint etc.

Well, we face the 25, 28 and 29 offenses the next three games, all averaging far below 100 in CHI, NJN and ATL. We know the Kings can outscore them, that is not even in doubt. What I would like to see is a stretch where DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE is the mantra and hold all three to under 80! I don't have the time to research the last time the Kings held 3 straight opponents under 80, but I know it has been a damned long time. Face it, these three should basically be scrimmages - and since it appears we won't change the playoff lot much by the end of year - might as well get some defensive confidence and practice. (HMMMMMM, I am sure Bulls/Nets/Hawks fans might take exception). I just thinkn it is high time, and the schedule is accomodating to getting some serious D going.

While I agree wholeheartedly that defense should be the focus, I think you are severely underestimating the teams we are facing. These games will hardly be 'nothing more than scrimmages'

2 of those 3 teams are on the up and up. Nets with VC have been playing well and Chicago's D is excellent. Shouldn't be the easiest games especially on the road.

Well, starting with Chicago, the Bulls have averaged around 92 points per game this season, so I don't see how the expectation should be to hold them under 80.

Secondly, the Bulls have scored 92 points or more in their last 11 consecutive games, winning 7 of 11. They only lost 3 games in January.

Looking at season stats can often be misleading if a team is on the move....and the Bulls are definitely playing ball at a different level than they were two months ago.

Never !!!!

#1 - NEVER ... underestimate your opponent !!!

#2 - Practice is done DURING PRACTICE

We don't go into a game to PRACTICE... the GAME PLAN is to win (PERIOD).

The worst thing people can do right now is go back to the mindset of thinking ANY team in this league, especially this year, is basically a scrimmage. There is simply too much parity, too many teams in flux, etc. I certainly hope the Kings don't start thinking that way because if they do we are doomed.

The Kings need to play one game at a time. I want to see them do what they have to do to win. Defensive confidence and practice? I'm sorry but to me that sounds pretty arrogant and as much as I love this team they don't have that much to be arrogant about.

to be fair...i really don't think the kings do have that mindset..and even if they did before the season started...they don't have the mindset any longer

I am not in any way suggesting the Kings have that mindset. What I'm saying is I hope they never develop it. What I was actually trying to say is that I hope FANS don't get that mindset.

;)

unfortunetly i think some kings fans do have the mindset...the league isn't like it use to be...and any team is capable of beating another team on any given night

and after saying all that i hope the Kings come out and whoop the "baby-BULLS" collective booties
