This team is begining to gel...

This team looks good now. We are outrebounding people or at least keeping it very close with some new agressive players such as Skinner. Our assists are down and our turnovers are up but overall we look better defensively and in the rebounding catagory. The team really looks like its begining to gel and come together.

We are 3-3 since the Webber trade and soon to be 4-3 after tonight. We have faced a blowout vs Miami but we delt Detroit one as well. We just look good. I just want to hear what you all think at this point. Skinner is becoming popular... as they are saying on ESPN... a fan favorite.

GO KINGS!!!

then the team scores only 11 points in the 4th quarter and nearly lose the game.... thank god for mike bibby......

Yeah, I don't know how much you can compliment this team after this performance. After leading by 16, they should be able to close it out in the second half, or at least maintain a lead. It shouldn't have gotten that close.

They held together just enough to get the win, but a horrendous second half.

Well, the team was definitely "just off" in the 4th... I think you can blame some of that on the unfamiliarity of the guys with each other. It shows up more often in the clutch when execution is even more important than simple hustle.

This type of a win can only help the team more the next time a situation like this comes around.

Cat would have come in handy with his ability to get to the hole and create his own shot when the jumpers stop fallign.

No Brad Miller; No Bobby Jackson; No Cuttino Mobley; No Kenny Thomas.

I can compliment this team a LOT for a gutsy win. Skinner still doesn't know all the offensive sets and yet he's doing an admirable job filling in at the high post.

This team deserves a LOT of credit.

A LOT OF CREDIT!!!!!

The offense still gets stagnant and assists have dropped way down. I am hoping a return of Brad Miller changes that. In the 4th tonight, Peja really forced too much. The best play they ran was between Darius and Skinner. It doesn't have to be all Peja/Bibby.

The team is still fairly "fluid" with Darius running the high post... but it begins to slow down when someone like Skinner is up there (despite his great play in other areas). Brad will be a great help in this dept. when he finally returns.

This team has potential, i really like what KT and Pharoah showed me so far. I wouldn't jump the gun and say this team has gelled yet. We have to wait till we get Brad and Cat back and see how it will work out over time.

Possibly sometime in April, most likely beginning of next season.

has this changed? at one point I heard maybe end of March or beginning of April. Sounded like he might even play a couple games before the playoffs.

Not sure I've heard anything "official", but Grant & Jerry tonight during the game seemed to think it would most likely be next year before we see him due to the necessary rehabilitation time after the removal of the pins.

Of course, Bobby's a fighter, and he may well try and come back, but I'd hate to see him reaggravate something for not being patient enough.

I'll rather have him sit out this season. If he comes back in April he won't be very effective, and might actually disrupt our "flow" pretty much like Cwebb did last year when he returned from injury and we lost a bunch of games. Ofcourse he then played pretty well in the playoffs....but i think with bobby, we should just let him sitout the season.

I'd rather him sit out if it means risking his health, because I don't want him to get reinjured, but I don't think bringing back Bobby would disrupt our flow. Bringing back someone who comes in off the bench is not going to effect the team the same way as upsetting the starting line up.

Memphis was depleted and tired too, so I don't think that should be a reason. It was a dogfight that could well determine the 5th seed.

It was a sloppy second half, but the Kings get props from me for holding on to a league that was cut in (mind you, Memphis didn't play great the second half by any means).

We need to hold on to that 5th spot, i don't want us to drop to 6th or 7th and play the Suns or the Sonics  . I think we can handle *allas

How many new guys does Memphis have in their line-up?

;)

Who did the Kings play last night? Where was the game located? ;)

This could go on all night. I will say it was a tough game, but I'm disappointed that the Kings let them chip their way back in. The way they played in the second half would cost them the game at least 8 out of 10 times.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not real happy the Kings let them back in, but it's not like it's something new. They're ALWAYS letting teams get back in. After everything that's happened recently, however, I'm willing to overlook that lapse since they gutted it out and got the win.

What can I say? I've just got the warm fuzzies over a two-game winning streak.

:D

I share your optimism, I'm just not as optimistic in general and let the fact that they are so bad with leads pull me down. They can't do that come playoffs if they want to win a series. I was hoping the infusion of new players will add toughness down the stretch to counter that, but apparently all it did was change their style and they still share old tendencies.

It was a great game, but it brings up startling new questions.

How you can judge a newly-restructured team with the loss of not one, but TWO of its starters at this junction after a HUGE trade is beyond me...

Bottom line is that the Kings had to rely on their defense to win this one, and they did just that. when was the last time they did that??? WOW! The Kings only allowed the Grizz 17 points in the fourth BTW. NOT BAD!!!

Also keep in mind that Memphis is a surging team with some big wins(like Spurs). True Gasol was out but they are young, talented and well coached. Also a good defensive team.

they said he would be back for the playoffs, could be a good thing, could be a bad thing

That is absolutely right! This team is really scrapping for wins - but in my book, A WIN IS A WIN IS A WIN. I am truly enjoying watching them play, they are so exciting and playing with so much heart - how can you NOT give them credit???

The Kings even when we were healthy and Had the old players would give up big leads in the fourth Qtr, so it's not nothing new....
