There is something wrong with this team.

It's not Cousins, Thomas or Vasquez. But I think some players either don't have their heart in it or they are intentionally tanking the games. I think Thornton and Patterson are the main culprits. The coach needs to make a change. Maybe the coach needs to appoligize for some things he has said about talent on the team. If that does not work we need to bench some of these terrible shooters we have. Bring in anyone who can shoot. Bring them in from Europe. I don't care. This has to stop.

It may have something to do with players knowing that they're not part of the future. It's not a real excuse as a pro when you're getting paid huge money,.. but it does make a difference, in terms of players giving passion and heart

Pat is just not shooting well, and he is mediocre at everything else, making him a near zero.
I don't see Pat lacking in effort, I have no problem running him out there for a while.

MT is not shooting well, and he is terrible at everything else, making him a zero. Jimmer is a better passer, and probably not any worse as a defender, than MT.

Salmons is Salmons, and if Luc is healthy, has no reason to play.

I'll go ahead and say it. I do believe that Jimmer would give more to this team than Thornton would at this point. You're right, I don't think they lose anything on defense. Jimmer was gaurding Lillard and doing a good job of it

This is the stench of Petre. When your only real criteria for acquiring players is "can they shoot?" Once their shots stop falling your team stinks like a fart in a Fiat, and with P. Pat and Thorton the stench will hang around twice as long.

Sounds like a few select players were just called out by Malone in the press conference, saying some only care about themselves and when things dont go their way they quit

I think MT will bounce back, and that is probably a better player than Jimmer is. But we kind of know what the ceiling is, and it is not that half season when Reke was hurt. He is a volume scorer with OK efficiency, on a team where he will not be the first or second in touches.

Jimmer might fit better, and we don't really know what his ceiling is. I don't think he'll be much better than a bounce-back MT, but there's that small chance he can be something more. No harm in taking a few weeks to find out.

GV/Jimmer/Luc/Pat/Cuz
A lot of 2 man ball with GV/Cuz, while Pat and Jimmer spread the D. Luc defends and makes up for Pat's rebounding.

IT/Ben/Outlaw/JT
IT can continue to gun, Ben will play lots of min but off the bench, and Outlaw out there, because there is nothing else.

Sprinkles of Hayes when necessary.

We could also throw in mcCallum/N'Diaye in the last couple minutes of a large lead/deficit to get some playing time. But no Thornton or Salmons.

Of course if they played well they would be part of the future.

Although I don't think Jimmer is contributing much as far as scoring goes, he DOES appear to value a team game and perhaps if you can't win, you should settle for developing a style of play that isn't selfish. Jimmer could be part of that. I'm not sure what can be lost.

Outside Cousins, Vasquez, Thomas and Ben Mac (LMAM and Landry ain't played yet but I know they play hard) it's a complete lack of talent, skill, desire to win and heart. You have to want to win even if you a terrible and we don't have that and it's been that way since we drafted Reke (not saying his fault just no talent/desire to put around good talent).

It's really astounding how terrible Petrie's non-draft acquisitions over the past four or so years look when they're in the hands of a coach who isn't a moron.

Hayes may have been among the best man-to-man post defenders in the league when we got him but now he's just short and overweight.
Salmons quite possibly is playing the worst basketball in the league at this point and MT isn't that far behind him.
P-Pat seems to have caught the JJ Hickson bug and has decided to completely suck at everything we brought him in to do.
Outlaw may be the current best of the batch and he's barely been mediocre at best.

Those four dudes (not counting Patterson) also are responsible for our lack of cap space as well as all of them were awarded (some by others, some by Petrie) absolutely ridiculous contracts that make K9's stupid salary look like a bargain in comparison.

Get rid of them/ relegate them to the far end of the bench and the team would at least be fun to watch.

Luc DID play tonight, and didn't do badly at all.

Malone calling out players for being selfish, not giving effort, and saying he has seen enough. AWESOME

Just watched it, it was great love this guy anyone who hasn't seen it watch it don't read it watch it. DMC must have loved it as much as I did.

But thorntan and salmons and maybe thompson won't be seeing more than 20min and it started today. Jimmer is back (now his worshipers will be unbateable). IT got his min subtracted too

I think the line up will be

Vasquez
Ben
Outlaw
PP
Cousins

Jimmer will get more minutes than thorntan

PPat can't play a lick of D. If he isn't hitting, he's worthless. BMac should start. His effort is leaps and bounds about the rest of the team and i don't think there is any question he can shoot the rock.

I also just don't think Thornton is going to thrive under a half court offense. He likes to gun it at a fast tempo and i just don't see him finding much of a rhythm in this offense.

My opinion - Pete better get on the phones and see if anybody wants some of our guys. It's clear that the talent on this team is just not there.

i say we start Ben, give the backup SG minutes to Jimmer (i have never been a Jimmer fanboy, but at least he can shoot, Thornton is done). and start Luc at SF with Outlaw off the bench
I'm at the same point. And I'm NOT a jimmer fan. But man, he can't be worse. He really can't. He'll give his all, make some fans very happy, maybe even earn a try out with someone next year, if not a very low level guaranteed contract.
