Here were some shots I took at halftime last night. This year we were able to get only fifth row since the Clippers are not very good this year. The arena was about 1/4 full, with the following jerseys spotted:
Artest - 4
Martin - 2
Bibby - 10
Cisco - 1 (Me)
So I had the distinction of having the only jersey of someone actually playing that night.
Here are our last two first round draft picks. Notice Martin in street clothes.
The arena was only about a 1/4 full and at half time I think they let people up at the top filter down. Stapels has three rows of luxury boxes and so when your in the upper deck, you are really in the upper deck. That is Al Thorton in the background next to Mikki and Sheldon Williams in the Foreground. They are actually about the same height, just Al can jump out of the building.
Points of Interest:
1. Mikki was heckled all night from before the game even started, so then he goes to score 11-13 points in the first quarter and wave to the hecklers during the free throws. After the first the chants of Mikki you suck became Mikki we'll take you back. So the key for Mikki to have a good game is to heckle him. He also came and said high to a couple of people in our section at half time, so that was nice of him.
2. Francisco did not look right all game, I do not if you could see on TV but between timeouts he was hunched over and in obvious pain. I was very impressed he gutted it out even though he couldn't shoot from distance.
3. Anthony Johnson is Jason Hart part 2, and I will leave it at that.
4. I was actually surprised at the stats because I thought Sheldon played a much better game then Spencer. Every time Spencer was in the game the clippers went at him defensively as evidenced by the 5 fouls. I was also surprised he was the leading rebounder since I counted three times a shorter clipper out jumped him for a rebound, once it was Cutino Mobley.
5. Spacing, Spacing, Spacing. We must have the worst spacing in the NBA. I would be terribly frustrated if I was Salmons, I counted at least 6 times he made a move only to run into one of our own guys.
6. It was interesting to see Al Thorton in person. I wanted us to draft him instead of Spencer on draft day. Which also would of meant we would have been forced to trade Ron Ron and start rebuilding. I like Ron Ron, just at a safe distance. Anyway at the half I was think 5 Points and a technical, I guess Petrie was right. Of course then he scored 22 in the 4th and overtimes. Oh well.
7. When Ron is not playing we have no idea what to do in the 4th quarter. Beno was the only one who was effective.
8. And to the guy sitting in front of us who kept taking pictures of the cheerleaders , You should be ashamed of yourself.
