The Tru Warier

Pretty good night from Ron! Hopefully this means his back spasms are getting better.

I was at the game and noticed that Artest was hobbling quite a bit in between plays, even showing a noticable limp on several timeouts. The fact that nearly scored 30 and was the factor that won the game for us last night while being in obvious pain made me think this thread about the "tru warier" was about his toughness.

Not to take anything away from Ron Artest's obvious toughness, nor his performance last night which saved our bacon, but I will say he is one of those guys who is going to show every little injury, let you know its there. He'll play through them, but he lets you know he's playing through them.

I'm not sure I agree. While I've heard Grant Napear make that comment at least once, the games I've attended this year haven't borne that out. Artest gets punished a LOT on the court. I don't think he's being overly dramatic about his back, or the obviously dislocated finger that was at a 90 degree angle to his hand, or some of the other stuff that happens. He may show the pain but I don't think it's for dramatic effect.
