A pretty damning article. I'm not sure how I never heard of this prior to reading this, but that pre-text phone call transcribed in the police report says it. Yikes. I would love to hear the conversation, because there can be subtle cracks, pauses, or stress-related sounds that come across as great evidence. It looks like him being tipped off my the victim's therapist saved KJ and undermined the police's investigation.

It has always made it very hard for me to be "pro KJ" A lot of posters here have known about this for a long time. It's not discussed, not sure why. He did some great things for Kings fans, but it does not make up for his past transgressions.
 
I read about some of Kevin Johnson's sexual abuse transgressions years ago and more info came out when he was making his "heroic" effort to keep the Kings in Sacramento. I know to some, he can do no wrong because of his efforts to save the Kings. But there has been too many incidents and accusations to make any logical person think he is innocent.

I'm glad that Mandi Koba is speaking out because a person in a position of power such as KJ should not be allowed to get away with things like this because they have the ability to hurt so many people. KJ is supposed to this picture perfect figure for the NBA. Unfortunately, KJ seems more like a self serving crook who likes to bend the rules to benefit himself. I guess that's why he became a politician.

If these allegations are true, it is best that this get's put out in the mainstream media before the self proclaimed "Little Barrack" really becomes governor of California.

Tread lightly...people around here get very sensitive when the good mayor's true colors are exposed.

This has been out there a long time.

This author BTW has a beef with KJ far predating this article. Actually it seems like the author is over the top pissed about charter schools or something, because he spends as mush time sliming KJ's wife as KJ. But anyway, he spends a lot of time writing hit pieces on the mayor. One of them even features a picture of Kevin with devil's horns, so this isn't exactly a search for the truth sort of journalism.

But as I said, its always been out there. Most of the other accusations seem silly, or even possibly made as a result of this one. But this one was there early, and always detailed enough to believe at least some of it. I think the first articles about it came out in the late 90s.

I guess the same could be said about Bill Cosby... It was always out there, just ifnored and swept under the rug.

I just can't get over the pretext phone conversation. There's no way, if I'm innocent, my conversation ever goes that route.
