Congrats Colts!!!

Only thing worse than losing is being a sore loser and that I ain't :)

It's an accomplishment for the Bears to make it this far too ;)

This is freaking out of hand. The rain is ruining the bears' game and the Colts are just lucky... UGH!
Wow, nice excuse. Rain when it's not that cold is ruining the game for a team that plays in rain, freezing rain and snow, and giving the advantage to the team that plays in a dome??

All I have to say, in the words of Borat:

VERY NICE!!!

Uh yeah, I highly regret that now. Because if the Colts were able to play good in the rain, there's no reason why the Bears shouldn't. Congrats to the Colts, I can't say they didn't play good because they did. As for the Bears, they're young, it's all good.. hopefully next year's their year. It's just heartbreaking that the first seed got this far and nothing.

This game was horrible by both sides (blame it on the rain if you must) but I can't believe Chicago came in with the same horrid game plan that KC and Baltimore came in with against the Colts. Just because their run defense was "bad" doesn't mean you can succeed with a one dimensional offense. When they talked about Lovie Smith saying he was going to run it all day I knew the Bears were doomed.

One thing is for certain - Rex Grossman does suck, I'm sorry I wasted my energy defending him against other marginal QB's.

Congrats Colts.

Rex was probably 75% the reason they lost...
I think Ron Turner was the biggest reason they lost. He's got to go.

As for Rex. HE was mediocre just like everybody else. I actually would not mind to have him back next year, but he has to improve.

Defense was bad tonight too. I know they were tired later in the game, but they didn't look all that great early in the game either.

Baseball season starts soon. Cubs pitchers report in 10 days.

GO CUBS!!!! :)

I guess the Bears really are who Dennis Green thought they were...

And the best part about the Super Bowl is that, when it's over, there's no more football; more air time for basketball (pro and college).

HOORAY BASKETBALL!

Yeah I agree with you... I actually don't want Rex to go (even if he sucked last night)... he has this whole offseason to improve... and I don't think the Bears are letting him go. Things just were not going the Bears' way at all in the second half.... next year, next year. :D

Rex was completely hung out to dry by the gameplan last night. He's not a very good QB but you can't try to hide his weaknesses by an over reliance on the run. A few play action passes could have gone a long way to setting up a more reliable running game. The Pats were the only team that did this against the Colts and it was working until injuries and illnesses caught up to them in the second half and their defense collapsed. Even a bad run defense can become a good run defense when they don't have to guard against the pass for 3 quarters.

No you better get Rex out of Chicago ASAP. In Houston, we've whined forever to dump David Carr but I think I've actually seen a starting quarterback who's worse than Carr.

If Carr were leading the Bears yesterday, you would have had a better shot at winning and that's a sad thing to say.

Rex, you'll be a great backup for a team but he's got no business leading a team let alone a team as good as the Bears.

David Carr has a pretty unenviable job in Houston. Why they haven't got him a running game is beyond me. Kubiak is good with QBs and he might be able to turn him around if they give him more to play with. It sounds like Houston may be in the running for Jake Plummer though.

If Houston is in the running for Jake the Snake, then will Oakland be in the running for David Carr?? Sounds like an Al Davis type of move to me. Then use the first pick for the o-line or d-line.

Rex looked pretty good firing those lasers into some tight spots, but he throws a horrible, floating, deep ball. If he didn't have receivers as fast and tall as Berrian and Moose, respectively, he'd have ended the season with enough INTs to make Brett Favre say, "Man, that's embarassing..."

And by the way, this is with a very good O-line. Not like this is any news flash but Rex will soon be a regular at Kyle Orton's weekly Sunday poker games.

Congrats Colts! Manning and Harrison are now legitimate topics of GOAT discussion.

FYI 60% of the Bears offensive plays were passing plays. Not sure what you mean by over-reliance on the run. Before the 4th quarter, it was still about 50-52% pass. Hardly a great idea in the rain with an average QB.

When healthy, Domanick Davis is a 1200+ yard rusher. Unfortunately, he hasn't been healthy for a full season yet. You can't really blame Houston's front office about the running game this year. Now, next year if they don't draft a young player and bring in a veteran RB as insurance for Davis, then you can jump all over them.

The Bears attempted 28 passes and 15 were in the 4th quarter. Another 4 or 5 were in the 3rd quarter after Indy's long drive. They lost one of their backs early in the game which also caused them to pass more than they would have otherwise. Their gameplan was clearly to run hard all day and Indy's run defense would break down. Lovie Smith was quoted as such numerous times. He had zero confidence in Rex but stuck with him and came up with a crappy gameplan that reflected this.
