The Streak is over...

Rain man

Starter
But it is one to be proud of. I know some people will say, "yeah, but we never won it all," but we showed a consistency that most good teams only hope to accomplish...

Entering this season- Consecutive seasons making the 2nd round of the playoffs

Los Angeles- 8 seasons
Sacramento- 4 seasons
San Antonio- 4 seasons
New Jersey- 3 Seasons
Detroit- 3 seasons
Indiana, Miami, Minnesota- 1 season

The point of this is that it is sometimes easy to lose track of just how consistently good we have been as of late. Only 8 teams make it to the second round every year, and we managed to do it 4 times in a row (more than anyone but the hated lakers). Plus, this seasons has snapped three of the longest streaks on the board (Sac, LA, NJ).

So- this is as good of a time as ever to acknowledge and applaud the run we have had.

I am very impressed with the team that showed up tonight. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if this team had showed up every game...

I'm suprised Utah isn't in that list somewhere. During the Malone/Stockton era, there were in the playoffs for what seemed like every season.

The streak of second round appearances may have ended, but we made it to the playoffs despite everything that happened.

That's good enough for me right now.

We can start a new streak next year - and it just might include # of seasons we've made it to the WCF.

That's the good thing about the end of the season. Everything starts over...

GO KINGS!!!

;)

This is just a statistic for teams entering this season, not all time. If someone had this statistic for all time, I bet the Celtics and Lakers of decades past put together some nice made-it-past-the-first-round streaks.
