The sky is...NOT falling!

And that brings up something else. I want to see some stupid blowouts, where we put our feet on the throats of the opponents and LEAVE THEM THERE! Play pedal to the metal, exterior genitalia out, and give the opponent a good old-fashioned thrashing. I'm tired of polite. I want to see the killer mentality.

:D
Me too!

I have to respectfully disagree, especially with the Kings. They have a tendency to play up to OR down to the level of their competition. It is actually, therefore, easier for them to put up 4 good quarters against a good team because they won't get lackadaisical, etc. They tend to get very sloppy against poor teams because they know darned well they could blow them out completely if they played at their best levels.

oh... now you wanna see blow outs.... when i got upset that the kings let the bench play against the pacers and nearly lost, you were like "the bench needs playing time" or whatever. i just wanted a blowout against a weaker team.... when darius didnt get his double-double i said the same thing.... but now you want stupid blowouts.... like i always say, we need more shooters....

I always like to see blow-outs, as long as the Kings are doing the blowing out, of course. Blow-outs with lot's of Bench time= best of both worlds:D

Let's see... the Pacers game was Dec. 11. It's now Dec. 28 and the Kings have lost THREE bleeping games since then. So, to answer your question, YES. I want to see a bleeping blowout.

You always say "like I always say" and, as usual, I fail to see the relevance in your comment. Shooters ARENT our problem. Never have been. If you think differently, you and I have basic conceptual differences about this team that go far beyond whether or not I should be able to comment about wanting to see a blowout...

There is a difference. It is easier to put together 4 good quarters against a lower teir team.
With that said, I have not seen four good quarters from this team, yet. (and I like you VF, I would love to see it)
exactly, it's far easier to put together 4 solid quarters, which btw, this team has not done yet ... unless you talk about 4 consecutive quarters spanning two games. i don't know about that, but in a single game, i haven't seen it.

sorry, i'm going to have to disagree here as well. not out of spite, but i'll make my point quick. i don't want to see a blowout. i want to see a well-played, competitive game against a good/elite opponent where the team demonstrates a collective effort to do what it takes to win.

Spite? What does that have to do with anything?????

You are entitled not to want to see a blow-out. I want to see the team play so well that they completely blow their opponent off the court. That's pretty much a "collective effort to do what it takes to win." I can't think of a case where a team won in a blowout by playing poorly...

nothing ... just that my disagreement is not on a personal level, and only involves basketball. people sometimes elevate it to this level, and i'm not saying you do. just that this isn't the reason i continue the argument.

as for not wanting to see a blow-out, IMO a blow-out will only give this team a false sense of security. they will continue to think that they are elite, and can turn the switch on any time they want or feel. i want them to win through adversity, that's all.

I'm not really sure I follow your argument. You don't want to see a blow out, even if it means the Kings played 4 quarters of focused ball? A blow out would somehow give them this false sense of security, leading them to think they are still elite? IMO, if this team does NOT think they are elite, we are already doomed. That confidence that they can play with anybody, beat anybody on any given night is a factor in what makes them dangerous.
What is your definition of winning through adversity? Apparently it isn't playing at a high level without Bobby Jackson. You want them to be down going into the 4th?

People may sometimes elevate it to personal levels on some boards, but not around here. At least not for long. Your comment is perfectly valid, although we disagree. There is NO reason whatsoever to bring up spite, personal levels, etc. In fact, it would be really good just to let it drop because it's totally irrelevant.
