The site & advertisements

#1
kind of a random question - not sure if anyone knows the answer...

but today there was a very noticeable ford ad in the corner, so i clicked on it just for the hell of it. i have no intention on...buying a ford.

does this help the site? i don't really have the means to become a contributing member at the moment, so i was wondering if clicking on the ads brought in money. i can click till the cows come home.

do i need to spend a certain amount of time at the linked site? can i just click over and over?

just curious if anyone knew how this worked.

thanks.

Jeremy can answer more fully, but we do get something for each click. I'm not sure about the details, but it wouldn't hurt for people to click on a couple of ads a day. I'm pretty sure you don't have to spend a set amount of time at the site. They tally the click-throughs.

I know that GoogleAds and others have programs that detect spikes and those hits are not treated as legitimate clicks. In other words if the same IP clicks (??) times a day for several days...They smell a rat. There may also be some backlash to the host site if it gets out of hand.

Jeremy most likely knows more about what we can get away with, for now MY GUESS is 1 or 2 clicks a day should be safe.

It's a good thing we all know that is againt G policy and it can have the site kicked off their service. Luckily all of us click with the honest intention of being interested in the products and services involved...
