Mike Bibby wears 10 because it represents dime, as in Team Dime (which is not a gang), and I think Reef previously wore #33, I don't know why it was changed to #3. That is all I know.
Reef has worn #3 just about all of his career. When #3 was not available, he wore #33.

No, reef had the 3 since he was in Van then changed it to 33 when he was in portland, then changed it back to 3 when got here.

Peja's number while he was playing for the Red Star and Paok(Greece) was 8.He wear this number when he plays for the national team also. But when he came to the NBA he picked 16,because "NBA basketball is two times better" he said(8*2=16).

Is that the real reason??

I think it's to help Mike Bibby remember that as a PG your job is to get assists ... also known as "dimes".

Reef wears #3 because that was his sister's number.

He switched to #33 a couple times. Once he did so during the McDonald's High School All-Star game to help out Marbury (who really wanted to keep #3) another time during his stint in Portland because Stoudamire was #3.

He wore #15 in the Olympics.

Brad Miller wears #52 because he has a vertical leap of 5.2 inches. If he starts wearing a higher jersey number it indicates an increase of his soaring ability. Nice to see him go hard to the rim that time last night though.

I don't believe Brad Miller can jump 5.2 inches!

His number ought to be more like 22 or 11.

Negative numbers, anyone? ;)

Unfortunately basketball jerseys are all positive numbers.

I wonder if he could wear double-zero?

I like the double delight (8*2) of Peja and 52 of Brad. I can't believe I am enjoying this thread. And learning the facts or whatever behind the Kings' numbers.

And although Chris is no longer a King, could someone tell me what's the 4 for? Just curious.

bonzi wears 42 because he wanted to wear 6 but couldn't because it's retired as the fans' "6th man"

so 4+2 = 6

well, 4 serves as a useful placeholder between 3 and 5. :p
Nice take Brick. You know how to reply with gusto, don't you? :D

Just miss our 4!!! Our former 4, I mean. Really!!!

that's the only 1 i could come up with, too. i don't remember webb's reason for picking #4. probably means something to him cause he gave iguodala a pretty nice watch for letting him wear #4 in philly.

Brad is 52 because of B-52...........not sure if that is what he meant from it but it works out :P

I would doubt that. It definately works though.

Would you say Andrei Kirilenko (sp?) wears 47 because he likes guns?

Thanks for the info! Very interesting.

I thought he wore 3 because thats the amount of rebounds he'll pull down in a game. :D

Well, that theory would explain the Big Tag and his 00 at least.
