Man, I'd really love to be in Portlands spot for this draft. Talk about perfect positioning. At 6 overall, you take the best guy that ends up slipping to that spot (likely Barnes). Then, at 11, you go with a talented big. Henson or Leonard.
Obviously, if we give Portland #5 overall, that could be huge for them, because it likely would mean that they get their choice of Drummond or Barnes, and they most likely would rather have their pick of those two. So, certainly, they wouldn't mind moving up to 5, but adding in 36 overall isn't going to be enough to get 11. We are going to have to give them something else.
Is there anything we could give them that would make them willing to do the deal, without disrupting our key guys ? I'd almost want to offer them a future No.1 that would be top 18 protected, but I don't think we could offer that because we already owe a draft pick to Cleveland in that horrible deal of yesteryear...
Damn.... I'd love to walk out of this draft with Barnes and Henson. Or Drummond and T.Jones.
