He sure has worked hard. His strategies may not be successful at the end but you have to give him props. If he can prevent the Kings from moving and be able to land an arena for Sacramento through all of this drama he will no doubt earn his political points. These victories will help his political career.

I thought he was the worst Mayor in history when he seemed to give up on the Kings after his meeting with the Maloofs. Who knew the crazy cards he had up his sleeve. Awesome job, Mayor.

I had no feelings one way or another about him. I try not to rush to judgement on things. I am impressed with recent events though. Fingers crossed on the Kings staying.

I suspect very strongly that prior to the presentation by KJ, the BOG had pretty much made up their minds. Certainly Stern seemed more than happy to wash his hands of Sacramento. Then along came KJ with a brilliant presentation. I am assuming what he said in the press conference was similar to what he said in front of the BOG. Brilliant. He presented a sophisticated argument and challenged no one. Sometimes you win the battle by being humble. He may win this by his personality alone. Certainly he is a force and I am sure he gained respect from men used to power. He is something special and excuse enough to give the BOG pause. Wow!
I believe that he was elected to save the Kings and that is what he has spent the bulk of his term doing. I know that most people only view the final result but what I have seen so far was impressive. He got Natomas and other hold out CC reps to vote for a downtown arena project. He has brought other outside players to the game in the way no city leader has in the past. I think the only things he's truly done to disappoint me are not stepping in sooner when it was clear the land swap was going to fail and get a plan B going just in case. But clearly he has learned from that. Even if he ultimately fails I salute him.

If he pulls this all off, he will automatically become, with all due respect to Chris Webber, the GREATEST player to ever play for the Sacramento Kings! 
Well they can have co-statues. Webb is trying to help too, despite being under no obligation to do so.

I really think it helps that we have people stepping up who are associated with the NBA as well.. You have all these former players, and current players saying how much the love the city and don't want to leave..
Basically you know all the class that Sacramento fans have shown for past coaches and players like Stockton, Webber, Vlade, Adelman, Wallace, and many many more? That's why we have people stepping up for us now. As the FANS we are the best hands down. Now people that we have shown respect for in the past 25 years are all stepping up for us. It's such a great story. I hope we get to keep the Kings when all said and done. This is something the Maloofs just don't get.
Do you think Fargo would have done any of this for us?
We, as fans, deserve much better than the Maloofs. Sad to say but it's true. This isn't about any politicians or whatever, this is about us fans stepping up, and players that have our respect who respect us as well doing the same when we are in need.
