The Kings sign Ryan Hollins

he was part of that UCLA team with collison that made adam morrison cry. i've never been a big fan of him, but i think his defensive numbers were good for the clippers last year so eh.

Saw this coming a mile away. Sigh. Pete is the master of one thing that's for sure...acquiring players whether they fit or not and just experimenting with them.

Starters
Cousins Evans Gay Mclemore Collison

2nd Unit
Hollins Landry Casspi Stauskas McCallum

3rd String
JT Moreland Williams (Trey Johnson or Zoran?) (Deonte Burton?)

Perimeter defense still horrible, but post defense is improving. C'mon TPE for Thabo!
2nd unit can actually hit a 3.
Question marks at both guard positions for 3rd string.

Gut says new pizza guy is to be traded.

Is he even good at anything?
He tries on defense.

He is basically Aaron Gray's replacement. Whether such a borderline NBAer could actually make management feel more comfortable about dealing JT I do not know. you would really really need Boogie to remain healthy or you'd be dead.,

Ha! No, Hollins is not going to get minutes over JT, or any other competent NBA big man. He's a 10th-12th man type at best. His career averages are 3.8pts 2.2reb.

Although to be fair, that'd be the case even if we'd have gotten a Roy Hibbert.

From the article: "The addition now puts the Kings current roster group at 19."

Are we at 20 if we count Omri Casspi? Or is he already in the total? This is insane lol we're signing everyone

That doesn't sound right...but let's see.

1) Collison
2) McCallum
3) Deonte Burton (unguaranteed training camp invite)
4) McLemore
5) Stauskas
6) Gay
7) Casspi
8) Williams
9) Gee (unguaranteed and will almost certainly be waived)
10) Hopson (unguaranteed and would presumably be waived but you never know)
11) Thompson
12) Landry
13) Evans
14) Moreland (unguaranteed but will likely stick)
15) Cousins
16) Hollins
17) Bhullar (unguaranteed and let's be realistic here)
18) Ellington (already waived)
19) Tyler (already waived)

I don't think I missed anybody. I guess I can see where they probably came up with the 19 number - presumably they are counting Ellington and Tyler even though they are already gone. At any rate, unless I missed somebody we're at 17 with two real obvious cuts (Bhullar and Gee) and two guys who are easy to cut (Burton, Hopson) if we don't want them. We've got a clear path to a roster of 13 without even letting go of Moreland (which I don't think we intend to do).

Awesome.

Well on our way to another of these this year.

Now I see why PDA passed Robin Lopez on to Portland. It's all coming together now.
Sad thing is I don't see any way for us to get a defensive big next to DMC and Lopez was top 5 in rim protection. your only chance at Sanders is before the season cause if he exposes again bucks won't trade him if he's terrible we won't trade for him.
We had Lopez in our damn hands no we are on a never ending search for one.

Ps. Hollies sucks and he shouldn't play over Acy, JT, or Morehead. And speaking of JT he better not be traded we need him on the bench.

That's the case anyway.

Boston as a 3 team trade makes some sense

would take 2-3 separate trades

Boston
Out-Brandon bass, 2nd round pick
In- 5.8 (Terry) TPE and an unguranteed (if needed, we have tons)

Sac
Out- (Terry) TPE, McLemore, 4 million in cap space
In- Josh Smith, 2nd round pick

Det
Out-smith
In-bass, McLemore, 4 million cap space (or new TPE)

Boston frees space
Sac gets one of its main targets
Det gets rid of albatross

Acy is still on the team? :D:D:D
And who's this Morehead guy? :D:D:D

As long this guy is signing less than Reggie Evan's money, I'm totally cool with Hollins.
He's is long, can block shots, and he tries to get under people's skins.
Just don't play him more than 7mins or he'll start thinking he is a star.

I don't like him every time Kings play the Clippers, he can get into DMC and JT's head easily.
He got guaranteed deal, so maybe next time we play the Clippers, his mission would be to eject Blake Griffin.

I'm not sure if PDA is pulling all DMC agitators(Evans, Hollins, Tyler) into our roster just like Lakers getting Kobe agitators into their team (i.e. Raja Bell, Matt Barnes).
So it 's more like they're gonna prep DMC's composure at training camp early on.

Detroit makes out like bandits in that deal. We get the worst end of that trade. I'd pass.

Modified, but one can begin to see how a three team can start to take shape

Boston
Out-Brandon bass, 2nd round pick
In- 5.8 (Terry) TPE and an unguranteed (if needed, we have tons)

Sac
Out- (Terry) TPE, McLemore, JT, 4 million in cap space
In- Josh Smith, Bass, two 2nd round picks

Det
Out-smith, 2nd rounder
In- JT, McLemore, 4 million cap space (or new TPE)

Double blow to the Kings not only is he awful but he always helped us when we played the Clippers by getting into foul trouble guarding Cousins. Would we not just be better off giving Moreland playing time as a back up than Hollins?

Why the hell would Boston do that trade? It's not like they're in need of cap space (I'm fairly certain if they were trying to open space, they'd rather try to move Gerald Wallace's rapidly aging butt instead of an expiring contract).

Moreland isn't a 5 by any standard (barely even bulky enough right now to be a 4). Hollins at the very least gives us a 3rd string option that isn't Sim Bhullar.
