The kinda ridiculous do-all/end-all trade: Sac/Mia/NY/Cle/Atl

venom_7

Starter
Sac Incoming:

Drew Gooden
Malik Rose
Daniel Gibson
Speedy Claxton

Sac Outgoing:
Mike Bibby
Kenny Thomas
Ron Artest

Why they do this:
Ship out players that are no longer needed, and you (basically) take a million dollars off of Kenny's deal. Say what you want about Bibby and Artest, but its apparent their services are no longer warranted.

Why they don't:
Because it's a trade I made up and it would never happen. As far as logical reasons, Petrie is still living in his little pipe dream that out paper team can make it to the playoffs.

New Lineup:

Udrih/Gibson/Claxton
Martin/Garcia/Douby
Salmons/Garcia/Jones
Gooden/Moore (or vis versa)/Williams/Rose
Miller/Moore/Hawes

Miami Incoming:

Stephon Marbury
Eddy Curry
Donyell Marshall
Kenny Thomas

Miami Outgoing:

Jason Williams
Mark Blount
Smush Parker
Shaquille O'neal

Why Miami does this:
Talent-wise, the trade is about even. They get younger, they get four players who all desperately need a change of scenery, and Pat Riley can work with these guys.

Why Miami doesn't:
Who knows. Kenny Thomas?

New Lineup:

Starbury/Wade/Quinn
Wade/Davis/Cook
Davis/Marshall/Wright/Jackson
Haslem/Wright/Thomas/Johnson
Curry/Barron/Anthony

Atlanta Incoming:

Mark Blount

Atlanta Outgoing:

Speedy Claxton

Why do it:

Claxton isn't playing anyway and Zaza freakin Pachulia is your starting center. Blount is an upgrade. Talent-wise, fairly even.

Why not:

Nobody likes Mark Blount.

Cleveland Incoming:

Mike Bibby
Zach Randolph
Smush Parker

Cleveland Outgoing:

Ira Newble
Larry Hughes
Daniel Gibson
Drew Gooden
Donyell Marshall

Why:
That is two major position upgrades to help out Lebron and you get rid of some guys who weren't doing anything anyway.

Why not: Why not? Maybe two horrible contracts, but that hasn't stopped anybody before.

New Lineup:

Bibby/Snow/DamonJones/Parker
Pavlovic/DBrown/Sbrown
James/James/James/Pavlovic/Dbrown
Randolph/Varejao/DwayneJones/Simmons
Ilgaukas/Varejao/Simmons

and my favorite:

New York incoming:

Ira Newble
Jason Williams
Larry Hughes
Ron Artest
Shaquille O'neal

New York Outgoing:

Stephon Marbury
Zach Randolph
Malik Rose
Eddy Curry

Why: Isiah.

Why not: Isiah

but seriously, Isiah also has pipe dreams about his team being a playoff team, and on paper this team after this trade is brutal.

New Lineup:

Williams/Robinson/Hughes/Collins
Crawford/Hughes/Chandler/Jones
Artest/Richardson/Jeffries/Balkman
Lee/Balkman/Jeffries
O'neal/Lee/Morris/James

but Isiah wouldn't figure that Shaq is old. Hughes is washed up, and Artest is Artest. Too bad i'm not the GM of the league.

trade 2 of our best assets for drew gooden, speedy claxton, malik rose, daniel gibson? thats ALL we get for em? why not just trade for expirings then. so we clear the way for our young guys to develop. this trade makes no sense for the kings.

Are there like 4 1st round picks that you forgot to mention for us? We lose two 18/6 players who have some All-star potential to them for Drew Gooden, 3 scrubs and getting rid of K9s contract?

Where's the Gimp because there is something very wrong going on here.

I know the Kings get the worst end of it all, and I didn't throw draft picks in because trade machine wouldn't let me. We get New Yorks pick, because Isiah uses them like 1 dollar bills.

And Speedy aint no scrub. And being a Kings fan, you should know that everyone in the NBA is a legit player, especially after watching Beno and Salmons this season.

we give up 2 starters and 1 starter/bench player for scrubs. i'd rather trade w/ miami and get their 2 expirings if we are going to dump players

Eh arguably you get two starting level players back, so I dont see that big of a deal. Talent wise, its a 70 cents for a dollar trade, but the guys we have are really expendable.

I know you spent a lot of time on this trade idea but I don't think you're going to convince anyone that it's actually a good idea...

:)
