I wanna start with an unexpected twist.....

Jimmer- is a NBA player! i was probably the most vocal "hater" but i have to admit when im wrong. Although i have also admitted that the shortened season etc, coaching, and playing PG was also to blame for his sucky-ness. he is going to be a solid NBA player... maybe not a star but he has a place in this league. when paired with a BIG PG and a shotblocker (which we dont have) he's gonna be a great SG option. Jimmer has been solid. he had things he needed to work on and went to work over the summer and you can see the effort is paying off. wish we could say the same for Evans shot. in fact Evans has even said as much. that he didn't work on it that first offseason as he should. but back to jimmer "well done sir!"

Owners- worst in the league, nuff said.

Front office/Petrie- Robinson was a steal at 5... hes a mess. so was JT that first year tho. its too early to go crazy about T-rob. Jimmer has stepped up. IT was a steal. Cousins/Evans best available. Evans is back and if that shot is ever fixed was an amazing draft pick. coaching plays a role in how this guys develop and its hard to really hate on the GM or front office when they dont lead the team into battle or put together these horrible rotations or lineups. Johnson is a defensive stopper thats about it- not a bad move. Brooks was kinda a best Free Agent willing to come to this team kinda move. and if we end up trading IT, Jimmer or MT it will make more sense. I still like the Hayes move. Only thing I would want more out of the Front office is a more balanced SF and a shot blocker. but all in all the moves/picks or trades arent whats killing us. i do believe that with the SF options we have and lack of a shot blocker we could still do better. outlaw- was a fail tho.

Smart- complete chaos at the coaching position! geez we obviously need a new one... too bad this relates directly to the maloofs. and the options out there with coaches willing to come here. He and the maloofs are totally the reason we suck and for almost all the same reasons we fired the last few coaches. Roles are a mess, mins are a mess, lineups are a mess. I cant blame anyone for blowing up on him. Cousins has a temper and its amazing this last episode didn't happen sooner. The one thing Smart had going for him was the chemistry he had with the players as a person. but thats now out the window.

the #1 TEAM NEEDS IS A NEW COACH... AND OWNERS... BUT STARTING WITH THE COACH WOULD BE THE BIGEST THING AS FAR AS WINS AND LOSSES.

noticed i didn't mention trading anyone other than we probably have too many little shooters that all do the same thing... we probably will make some sort of move for a SF... we dont need a huge one like Evans or Cousins because at the heart of this mess is Smart. we have no idea of the potential on this team because its impossible to judge when Smart is running rotations of IT, MT and Jimmer with 2 SF's !!!!

so again dont blame the players... or the front office (yet.. wait till this trade deadline passes its gonna be Petrie's most critical one ever)... the lack of a real coach Smart/Maloofs is the problem.

I agree with all of the above. I just can't believe the Maloofs can live comfortably knowing that they are a complete embarrassment as NBA owners. Do they even have any pride? They are what is wrong with this country. Admit your mistakes and move on already. Sell the damn team! Smart will follow.

I just posted this in another thread.

If you fire Coach Smart you hire........who? The same decision makers that hired Smart....and hired Westphal and hired Theus and Musselman will hire coach #6 since Rick Adelman.

Do you think anything will change?

i dont think anyone else on earth could do a worse job of comprehending who should play how many minutes and what lineups to use

And so you fire Smart and you slide English or Bobby into the head spot and it gets you what? 2 or 3 more wins and less chance to get the #1 pick?

We all know that this is not a coaching problem more than it is a "culture" problem. Phil Jackson is available right now. So is Nate McMillian and Flip Sanders and Kurt Rambis. All these guys are much better than Smart right now. But none of those guys are coming here with the organization in shambles. And if they did come, it still won't change anything until George, Gavin and Joe are gone (best case scenario) or sign a 30 year lease for a new arena.

As Kings fans our best recourse is to wait this thing out. That is the honest truth about the state of the Kings in my observation.

That's a pretty defeatist attitude. Problem is, you're mostly right. George is loving what's going on right now. My only hope is that the players fight through despite the coaching, but I think Cousins just said what everyone was thinking. Meh. I'll probably just remain in a holding pattern until something dramatically positive happens.

Might be even worse than that. Any competent coach wouldn't touch this situation with a ten foot pole. This franchise is not a good career choice for anyone but the desperate.

You, me, everybody on this board or any other fan want to see light at the end of the tunnel. But this situation is way passed the coach's seat, the coach's rotation or the players on the floor. This is way deeper than that.

My uneducated prediction is that this thing is going to get settled sooner than later. I have great hope and my gut tells me that come the All Star Break and the March 1 relocation deadline that either the City and the Maloofs will get back to the table negotiating or Commissioner Stern is going to force his power "in the best interest of the league"; because I can not see Stern letting this Sacramento situation stew in it's own vomit too much longer without some resolution one way or the other.

Right now a market that is 20th in the nation media wise and owns (or owned) the NBA record for consecutive sell outs is being poisoned. What the forcing is, I do not know. But I can not see this franchise go into 2013-14 in this same situation.

So what exactly is the alternative?! Stay as is and burry the franchise further into the cellar? A change is needed and a real coach needs to be brought in. None of this looking into the rubbish dump for a bargain. You go out there willing to spend some $5-6 million per season for a real coach! Sloane, McMillan, JVG etc and you pick the best one willing to take on the challenge!

The problem is that many wouldn't want to do it because they know its a dead end unless the approach from ownership changes.

And before people say Maloofs don't have $5-6 million to spend on a coach, let me remind you that they keep playing two coaches just about every season and those salaries would add up to $5-6 million a season.

Yep. The status quo isn't sustainable. This team is a debacle.

Agree here, too. (Which kinda scares the crap out of me.)

Now I'm really getting worried, as I agree with this, too. Except for the one part.

the #1 TEAM NEEDS IS A NEW COACH... AND OWNERS... BUT STARTING WITH THE COACH WOULD BE THE BIGEST THING AS FAR AS WINS AND LOSSES.

I think you have the order wrong. Starting with new owners would enable us to see a rebuild, starting with a new coach with a nationally recognizable name and style.

noticed i didn't mention trading anyone other than we probably have too many little shooters that all do the same thing... we probably will make some sort of move for a SF... we dont need a huge one like Evans or Cousins because at the heart of this mess is Smart. we have no idea of the potential on this team because its impossible to judge when Smart is running rotations of IT, MT and Jimmer with 2 SF's !!!!

There's enough blame to go around and hit the coach, the front office in some cases and at least one player. I've been very vocal in my defense of Demarcus Cousins but enough is enough. He's a little kid in a very big body throwing temper tantrums much like my 8-year-old granddaughter. If he doesn't do some growing up very quickly he's going to find himself on the outside looking in. I doubt if he could even get a job playing overseas right now. He needs to grow up and the Kings need to find some way to get through to him. If they cannot, his career will be reduced to a trivia question at some point in the future.

if Michael Beasley, Andray Blatche can stick around then Cousins should be ok in the NBA... Ron Artest,S. Marbury, R. Wallace, Zack Randolph. , jason williams, Bonzi Wells.... all these guys were seriously nuts and troubled.

good news is that at least Cousins isn't fighting anyone man or woman off the court, totally insane(artest) getting himself stabbed(P.Pierce) or shot (blatche)and isn't getting arrested or doing drugs (as far as we know). hes just a immature, overly emotional, competitor that wants to win and is used to winning and dominating...

I think Cousins means well. He is very child like in many ways while not being "all in" ron artest crazy. hes still so young. man what was i doing at his age??? LOL!!! i think he deep down wants to help the team and win. this lack of consistency with the coaches and having such poor quality coaches with no respectable experience or winning history is in my opinion the MAIN ISSUE... i think cousins would still be acting out even if he was on a team like the spurs but nothing to the extreme were seeing here...

unfortunately i see this only ending one way right now. with Cousins being moved eventually (down the line) because as long as the maloofs own this team we will most likely continue having these god awful coaches that will just continue pushing Cousins and all of our buttons!!!

now if by the grace of God we get an established "winning" coach... Cousins is back in the fold long term.

this is a great point that nobody talks about. hes not a gangbanger getting into trouble with the law, bringing guns in the locker room, getting in trouble for drugs, etc etc. hes just immature
