I looked it up so I'm not going to say. I wouldn't have guessed either. I found this little tidbit on his bio interesting though-- Relatives: Cousin of Kwame Brown. That explains a lot!

He wasn't still on the team. He left after the first year (to either the Sixers or Nets I can't remember) and then I believe he went to Europe. But he was back with the Kings afterward. I don't remember if it was 10 day contracts or if we signed him for a full year.

It was a salary cap move, plain and simple. And in hindsight it should have been a warning sign because IIRC it was the FIRST time in the Maloof era that blatant cost cutting measures weakened the team. Obviously it started a trend.
