The Capitol Corridor Impact Report

Thanks, Mike. It is very interesting. When analysts say there's no increase in entertainment spending generated by arenas, they are talking about the jurisdication of the arena. That would mean Sacramento city and county. This shows that the liklihood that if the city has no arena, those entertainment dollars may be spent elsewhere, but would probably be much reduced within the city of Sacramento.

IMHO, an arena also makes living in the "Capital Corridor" more attractive to companies and people in general.

Note that Stocton's newer arena has probably diverted some entertainment spending away from Sacramento. It can host some of the same smaller events as PBP.

Yep, just imagine how much more money the people of Sacramento would spend on Amazon.com or NetFlix if there were no arena events to spend their entertainment dollars on. I'm being serious. Remove local entertainment options in a world where any number of companies will gladly mail entertainment to your door, or even stream it to your TV, and guess where that cash is going to go.

That's something people don't talk about. How much revenue the city will outright LOSE if there's no arena.
