The Brink of War?

This was the headline tonight on Foxnews.com in reference to the North Korea situation. I knew that, with the North's planned missile test, things were starting to heat up, but this is quickly getting out of hand. Shortly after it was assumed that N.K. was planning a test launch, the United States said that it would shoot down said missile. In response, North Korea promised an "annihilating nuclear strike" against the United States, should we attack them pre-emptively. The state department then released a statement saying that the United States would respond appropriately, and take the necessary measures to defend herself. Now, it's debatable whether or not N.K. has nuclear weapons technology, and even if they do, it's even less likely that they can make a warhead small enough to fit into an ICBM, but, they could hit South Korea, with its 29,500 American Troops, or even Japan. They do have missiles however, with a long enough range to hit the West Coast of the United States, and even a conventional attack would be something we haven’t experienced in many years.

This is scary.

I'm pre-emptively closing this simply because there's no way it cannot end up getting political.
