The Artest Jab

Kingster

Hall of Famer
Did anybody see it? I did. Reviewed it several times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. It happened in the first or second quarter. He and Maxiell were wrestling a lot (Artest was defending), then the Kings got the ball on the rebound and Maxiell took off up the court. Artest turned around a fired a jab at Maxiell, who at this time had his back turned to Artest. The jab probably came to within 6 inches from Maxiell's back. It looked to me like Artest's fist was closed and that it was definitely a jab, not a slap. It was after this episode that Artest had his flare up with Theus. Artest was amped for this game from the get go. He still has it in him. Don't believe otherwise......

Did you see the hit Chauncey laid on Martin at the end, when Martin was setting the screen for Bibby? That was a flagrant at the least, Billups threw his elbow up and into Martin, knocking him on his backside rather obscenely!

I definitely saw it. I thought Ron Artest delivered a minor push or at worst slap on the back of Maxiell as the Detroit player was moving away from him. If it was a clenched fist then such a glancing pin-prick it was barely noticed or felt. It looked like one of the Asst. Coaches (maybe Chuck Person) got up off the bench and was yelling at Artest and he yelled something back. Then there was stoppage or timeout and Reggie Theus appeared to be calming it all down more than escalating anything. A minute later it was over like nothing ever happened.

Saw that.. Looks like he raised his elbow into K-Mart's chin. I was pissed.

I think we know now who to trade between Bibby and Artest.

Artest of course. Reason is because Beno might not be here after this year, and that would leave us with a HUGE hole at PG. At least if Beno were to leave we would still have a better than average veteran PG starting for us.

Okay, but I was thinking the reason just might be because Artest is start to show some of the traits he exhibited in Indiana. It's not a matter of "If" with Ron Artest and his anger issues. It's a matter of "when" and I personally would much rather the "when" didn't occur while he's still in a Kings uniform. Let another team share in the joy the Pacers and Kings have known by having their season disrupted and the media all over them because of the misdeeds or poor judgment of Ron Artest.

I'm more worried about Ron leaving this summer and us still having extra salary that could have gone with him still on the books.

Well yah, that too.. But the PG issue is tehre as well. I don't want to be stuck with Orien Greene again starting the year off playing PG. Rather have Bibby (unless a deal came along like the one I had mentioned re: Noah, and Hinrich for Bibby)

But you are correct too. I don't like Artest's attitude. Last nights game where he was arguing with Theus because he didn't get the ball? Come on Artest... It pisses me off because tonight he did get the ball in crunch time, and look what happened. 2 missed shots (one WAY off), and a t/o which led to two made 3pt shots, and a 2pt layup on the other end.

At this point i really want to see Artest moved, i say just get somebody for him, i really dont care who, im tired of his 1 on 1 ball game, his attitude like he is the star on the court, his inconsistency, and his unpredictability.

Hell yeah I saw it... pissed me off actually.

Sore loser.
