Is there any way to save a Flash file (such as the Starship Kobeprise) to my computer?

go to brickies link in the art studio....right click on the link and choose "save target as" this will save to your hard drive.

THANK YOU! I owe you one...

Hmmmmmm. I don't think that works, ILV. I may ask for my beer back. ;)

I'm on a dialup and it takes forever for me to be able to view it. I did what you suggested, it took barely a second...

But when I went offline and attempted to view it, nothing happened...

forgot to mention...I already downed the beer...guess I owe you one!

But don't you need the Flash program in order to see Bricklayer's "movie" offline??

Or does it work in other programs?

I don't know... All I know is I want to save that program and one of the wizards around here should be able to tell me how to do it.

I'm old... they should make allowances for me.

:D

Cool. It's now saved; I went to Macromedia and tried to download the Flash Player and Shockwave Player. They said they downloaded but I can't find them.

I thought WindowXP Home Edition was supposed to be fool-proof and infinitely MORE user friendly...

have you tried running the flash again since you downloaded the flash player? I can't recall off the top of my head, but flash tool often install automatically.

I'll have to take a look.

Just to add to my previous post. If you installed Macromedia Shockwave player, open windows explorer and find kobe shockwave file. Right clicko on it and select Open With. Select "select program from the list" and select Internet Explorer. It should play the file.

Okay, another interesting development. I was able to save the Kobe shockwave file with no problem. I then went to Macromedia and downloaded the Flash Player. Unfortunately, I cannot find it.

I recently got a new computer. This one has WindowsXP. My old computer, with W98, had the flash player and I had absolutely no problems with it. Is it possible I have to adjust security settings or something to be able to use the shockwave player???

Did you try what I suggesed in the previous post? That worked for me. I just tried it again and it played without any problems.

Hmmm. I downloaded (I thought) the shockwave player but I didn't get the little file on my desktop to actually install...

I think I'm doing something wrong...

To clarify, I don't want to play it while I'm online. I want to be able to view it offline, which I was able to do before with the other Bricklayer creations...and my old computer.

:o

Okay, I finally got it through my thick skull. I did find a glitch, so I removed the shockwave player, reinstalled it through Macromedia and then did exactly as you suggested...

Everything is working quite nicely.

I had no idea you could actually use features of IE off-line...

Please keep the insane giggling to yourself...Thank you!
