The Kings are all of 0.5 games behind the Lakers, and while the Laker's "great" start is a pleasant surprise, the Kings almost identical start is basically "ho-hum"
I didn't think expectations were/are particularly different for the two teams this season... why the different reactions to their starts?
We're past the "great start"...which was 3-0 for the Lakers and 1-2 for the Kings. I think that was the "start" that was talked about. At least that's how I saw it...it's a month into the season now.
If somebody would have told me that after 14 games, the Lakers will be leading the Pacific followed closely by the Kings, I would tell that person, pass that good stuff around!
Tough to draw any conclusions yet about either the Kings or the Lakers IMO. Both have played home-heavy schedules and have looked like different teams on the road.
However, not like anyone else in the Pacific is all that impressive....

Sure you can. Wins are wins. You can expect .500 at best on the road for each team. If each team is playing nicely at home, don't expect that to deviate too much for the rest of the season barring injury.
Both teams should make the playoffs, imo. They have more collective exp than GSW or NO and their respective stars are grizzled vets to their neophytes. Both teams have winning cultures. GSW and NO don't. That accounts for something in my book.
