Daylight saving time! What is it good for?

Not much, say two University of California, Santa Barbara researchers who conclude that setting the clock forward actually ends up using more energy, not less.

I have always hated turning clocks forward and back. Just pick a time and stick with it, please!

Interesting - it doesn't really dispute the rationale for the recent spring/fall extensions. I do wonder how that is impacted by region. I like the long days in the summer so I'd prefer keeping it.

Uh, you realize the days are the same length with and without DST, right? ;)

Fine. Lets get rid of DST and universally agree to go to work an hour earlier in the summer so I have an extra hour to play outside in the evening.

I don't care which way they move the day, let's just pick one time and stick with it year-round. Heck, let's move it halfway inbetween the two and call it good. ;) This switching back and forth is just stupid....

I like the switch (well at least the switch back to non daylight time). It feels like being lazy for a week or so.

I think most people would prefer to be on savings time, the problem is that its not feasible year round because of AM commutes being too dark.

I really do not like....wait, I hate DST. And there are not many things that I waste the energy to hate - no pun intended. I once heard that the whole thing was a bet between two politicians. Either way, I wish it would just go away. When I lived in Hawaii, we did not have to deal with it and I loved it, the only problem was the varying time change from mainland.
