If anything has ever convinced me of the need to implement more rules like this in the league, it's the ruckus created by the handful of clueless punks like AI that consider this to be some form of violation to their personal freedom. The NBA has been a glorious gift to AI and all other players like him, and if the NBA set a rule that Allen Iverson should walk into Stern’s office every morning, bow down and kiss his bare ***, then we might have a real violation on our hands… but at least it might remind Iverson where he really fits into the scheme of things. If he's truly worried about "the man", then he has no business sleeping in the man's house.
