I agree. People think they are being cute but they are screwing up their kids for life. A crappy name is an obstacle someone has to overcome from the moment they are introduced.

When people find out my wife is expecting the first question is "Do you know what it is?" which is quickly followed by "Do you have a name picked out already." I do. And its my father's first name coupled with my middle name which was my grandmother's maiden name. And everybody always says "What a great name. Its so refreshing to see people choosing traditional names nowadays."
 
Sadly, my wife vetoed Optimus Prime as our son's name. How will he fulfill the prophecies now? That's the last time I give a tarot card reader $20. :(
