I guess the only must for us that I'd vote for is matching offers for Evans and/or overpaying if necessary because we probably will have to overpay. And it likely won't be the max, but it'll be comparable to what Nic Batum got last off-season. But while I wouldn't go so far as to say that we must trade Thornton, Thompson, and Thomas -- I'd be aggressively shopping all of them. And a scenario where all of them are back next season is unacceptable to me. The roster as presently constructed is composed of a lot of ill-fitting parts. If Evans and Cousins are still the building blocks then I like Patterson as a compliment to them, but I'd include him to sweeten a trade if need be. The rest I'm less keen on. Thompson is in that vague middle ground of not being good enough as the starter but probably too good for a limited bench role. Same with Thornton and Isaiah to a lesser extent. We need to turn these guys into players that actually compliment our stars rather than detracting from them. If that means we come into the the 2013/2014 season with no bench depth so be it. We can build that up over time. What we absolutely need to have is five guys in the starting lineup who play well together.
