Should we go after Blake Griffin? (Griffin had altercation with team equipment staffer)

um... what? the report indicates that blake griffin broke his hand in an ill-advised off-court altercation, without any indication whatsoever that the clippers intend to put him on the trade block, and the conclusion drawn in the OP is that the kings should try to "go after" him? how? with what? why, exactly, would the clippers trade a superstar PF in his prime? because he did something stupid?

Lol it was more of a passing time kind of thread. I'm sure they wouldn't trade him. But with situations like these (physical altercations), anything can happen. Please try to remember that we were the beneficiary of a trade that brought over someone with a much dirtier track record (Ron Artest).

DMC would not need to take him. If we landed Blake, DMC would be playing for the Clips.

Not sure about all the Griffin hate. He is one of the top 10 players in the league.
And Cousins is a Top 5 player in the league; why would we downgrade?

George Karl does not have that kind of cache, I'm sorry. He is not an accomplished enough coach that anybody should seriously consider trading to get back a player who, frankly, is not as good as the player we have, just because he may be a better fit for the coach's system. That's madness.

If your coach is Gregg Popovich, and he tells you that you need to make that trade for fit, then maybe. And, even then, you have to sleep on it. But definitely not for George "first round and out" Karl.

You overstate DMC being better than Griffin...

Do I, though?

By my estimation, there are only four players in the NBA who could be said to be objectively better than DeMarcus Cousins. Then, there are about six or seven guys (Griffin, Harden, George, Davis, Paul, Leonard, Butler) about whom that criteria is wholly subjective, and whether or not you ("royal" you) think they are better than Cousins is almost entirely predicated on what you personally think the defining characteristics of a "great" player are. Like, you tell me that Stephen Curry is better than DeMarcus Cousins, and my response is going to be, "Sure." You tell me that Blake Griffin is better than DeMarcus Cousins, and my response is going to be, "Is he, really? Better at what?"

EDIT - See, threads like this are why people think I'm a Cousins-stan. I still don't like Cousins but, honestly, threads like this are ridiculous.

His work ethic? Seriously? What about his ethics of punching the crap out of an equipment manager?
I should've been more specific. I apologize. I was talking about his work ethic regarding improvement on the court. He has made great strides in that aspect. However, in no way do I condone his behavior off the court. That incident was just plain stupid on Blake's part.

You do realize that I didn't say that Griffin is better than DMC. It is a wash imo. We are talking about trading 1 top 10 guy for another top 10 guy. Not ridiculous really. Very distasteful to some to be sure, but not ridiculous.
