Shaq Vs. Pollard

Seems like old times watching Pollard trying to defend Shaq tonight, which makes me wonder, what poor miseralbe center has had the misfortune of defneding the big guy the most? Off the top of my head I'd guess that Blade may have logged the gretest number of min against him, but poor Scott seems to have been there a lot. Oh well good game and it looks like the Pacers are definantly makingn up for lost time now that JO is back.

It's great to see Pollard getting min!

And yes after a bad call where Shaqgot the foul despite sending Pollard inot the seats our boy Scott clearly and loudly said on national TV "That's F**king Bull S**t!

Never has one man been abused by another man so much AND gotten so many fouls while being abused.

The only thing Scot has left is that he doesn't like it. When he gets the abuse, the foul, AND Shaq makes him like it, it will be sad.

Was always the great mystery with Shaq against Pollard -- for years Scot was our defensive stalwart inside, but might have defended Shaq WORSE than just about anyboyd else I've seen. Still hasn't learned I see, although he's at least making a few plays and getting a few calls to make things interesting.

Jeff Foster is no bigger than Scot, but he does a MUCH better job of bodying him up. Scot has just always looked like he's afraid of him or something.

Whe you are gettiing Shaq elbows to the skull all night with no call you get a little gun shy... I swear Shaq is personaly responsable for Pollard's back.

I never saw fear from Scot in any situation that I can recall. The only thing about him defending Shaq that I can think of is - Pollard's a banger, and you can't outbang Shaq. So, a finesse approach like Vlade's might be better.

Exactly, Pollard is a big strong guy who relys on his strength. That just ain't gonna fly against the Sumo wrestler. He tries to play Shaq straight up and gets smacked out of the way. Funny, I thought the defender had the right to be somewhere on the court... guess I was looking at the pre-Shaq rulebook?

Pollard does NOT bang effectively against Shaq. Never has. And by that I mean that there are 6'7" guys who do a better job against Shaq. As mentioned -- watch the difference between Foster and Pollard on him. Foster has no hope either, but he stands in there, denies him position, gets under him. Scot is afraid of body contact. Loved Pollard, but Shaq had him intimidatred from Day 1, and knew it.

This might be a little off topic but, but the Heat shot 47% from the free-throw line! Thats horrible! I know they have shaq but look at the other people!
E. Jones 0-1
U. Haslem 4-7
S. O'Neal 4-13
D. Jones 1-3
D. Wade 8-12

Thats really bad!

My favorite part of that game was when R. Miller hitting a couple big threes and the camera panned over to Spike, who was sitting there shaking his head. Unintentional comedy at its finest.

Shaq hates Pollard, always has, and Shaq always excels against players that he hates. Last night was brutal though. If I was in Pollard's place, it would've been very hard not to retalite with fists after one of those nasty (and intentionally placed) elbows.

Shaqitits? I've seen a lot of typos from celt but this one has to be one of the funniest! LOL.
We've all been trying exceptionally hard NOT to make the obvious references. ;)
